StreetHop was down for the last 8-72 hours (I'm sketchy on the timeline), and it got me to thinking. If you all think back, StreetHop had its down periods. You know, times where Mike or Jon rly didn't give a shit about the site due to real life shit, and/or times when the activity hit absolute bottoms. HitEmUp was gone for a while a few years back, some of you will remember. I do, and it sucked balls bigtime. I guess maybe that's why I'm scared it'll happen again, because every time the boards are down, I'm thinking, "Mike probably thought 'fuck it' and closed the site, save some dollars." Deep down I guess I always feel like it'll probably come back up, but the fear still lingers in the back of my head.
That's why I'm now gonna talk about how we can take active precaution. I'm thinking, we should make some kind of rule. If the site is ever down for say more than a week, we should agree upon another forum where we can all meet. No one likes change, but in the event that something terrible should befall StreetHop.com, change would be a fact. Taking over another forum and making it ours would be a natural part of adapting to the new reality. (*) What do you say? What forum should we take over if StreetHop suddenly disappears?
* I assume everyone is on the same page here; putting the internet/StreetHop behind you and moving on with real life things is a non-option.
