do you think if tupac hadn't of died he would eventually go mainstream along the lines of people like 50 Cent and would he be receiving the same hate 50 does.

i no this is primarily is a tupac board but please consider it seriously and dont just say no.

i've often wondered about this myself. I think he would have in one way or another. look at master p or snoop, dre , shit the bunch of them. i think had he not been shot we would not be talking about him the way we do. he was at the top when he died so he forever stays on top.

I highly doubt it. Even though Pac had some pop songs like Cali Luv, How Do U Want It, etc, Pac was dedicated to putting messages in his art. He was bent on mainstream. His last album, Makaveli, only had one pop song on it while the rest was so-called underground. So if Pac would have continued to rap, I believe he would of finished with One Nation, maybe drop a few albums every year, and it would still have relevant messages in it. He would still make songs like International OG, Friends OG or Temptations, but overall, he'd only used 25% of his album for those type of songs, while the rest would be crew cuts, emotional songs and songs like White Manz World, They Don't Give A Fuck About Us and Letter To The President. Pac definately would find ways to stay in the spotlight. But I don't think he'd sell out to do it

its tough to answer, because if you look at nas for example the stuff he does now is not pop rap.Nas is always trying new things and his music is deep. I think pac would be doing things the was nas did. collabs with snoop maybe and yeah maybe pac would of drop a few club hits, but pac wanted to put messages out to public. So in a way, he has got to make commercial music to reach the public.

this topic doesnt even fit into a fabric

definitions of mainstream, commercial, pop, hate because of ( ), 50 Cent??, its all fuck it decisively

"The reason I sell six million records, the reason I can go to jail and come out without a scratch, the reason I can walk around, the reason I am who I am today, is because I can look directly into my face and find my soul. It's right there. It's not sold. I didn't sell it..."

I dont think you should close threads when pac board is quiet. If people believe they can post a comment then it should be left open. We filled a whole page full of comments. Edouble with a nice post , but there can be other possible answers and solutions.

even if everyone hated 2Pac, i'd still listen to his music..he makes good music.....even if he does end up mainstream....its pac and his talent that's worth more...not the beats....even tho the og's are way better........i've learn to appreciate 2pac remixes..yes that includes LTTG (some of it) and pacs life too.

Well, as far as selling out because the industry is all about money: y'all remember how much money pac had when he died. You know pac wasn't in it for the money. He knew he was in the position to make a difference. To become legendary.

Other than that, on the comment on Nas, I don't think pac would be able to be so quiet as Nas is at the moment. Either pac would quit rap altogether and do different stuff, or he would dislike the state of rap and force himself to make a change.

That's also the reason why I don't think pac coulda fallen off, during his career. In addition to that, I think pac would've defined the word pop in hip-hop music. I think his music would have been so strong that he defined the word hip-hop in the coming era (like Eminem, 50 and Dre did for a moment). I think he had the personality to do that all by himself.

So to answer your question. I don't think he woulda sold out. I think he would've made us all very grateful for his music.

his whole persona was about being real . From the beginning of his career till then end. He put his career on the line so many times during interviews all the time. He would of surely changed the state of hip hop. Big Syke would of had a selling album out , laws would actually be liked , and master p would of never happened.

even though his songs were pop at times (how do u want it) he still said important shit...or talked about shit that was important to him. "FUCK BOB DOLE" or somethin.

he would always give people a reason to listen, not only to his music, but to him.

no rap artist really does that.

It wasn't in Tupacs nature to not atleast talk about something real, like its not for nature to be predictable.

he wouldn't sell out cuz the industry wouldn't be in its current state and there would be no need for these poppish only bass down south dance songs
