That's so awesome.. he copies the sounds of all the birds he hears around him! Sweet!!

It's hilarious when they show the original bird that he is imitating being confused! And the car alarm/camera shutter? OMG awesome! I'd love to have one of those in a city to see what imitations it could do!

Birds are really underrated I think, when it comes to their skills. I was watching something on Animal Planet the other day and this bird spent MONTHS setting up his cave with decorations. Seeds, flowers, beetles, lol. Just really interesting things in order to attract a mate. It was amazing to see. Especially because the seeds kept sprouting and he kept having to remove those and replace them because the sprouting seeds messed up the pattern. That requires quite a lot of thought from a tiny little bird.

Yeah I agree.. Totally underrated. It's amazing the lengths animals will go to get some! I was thinkin its funny how in the animal world its usually the male that fancies himself up to attract a female, but in humans its usually the female that goes to extremes to attract a male. I mean men do too but not to the same extent as women.

I've considered that before as well. From a purely biological stand point, as the female is the one producing offspring it makes sense that she is the one that is more picky about picking the best male for a mate. These days, girls have babies with any old body, lmfao. Imagine if it were more like the bird world, how romantic. Guys writing and singing beautifully composed songs, buying a house and decorating it, getting all dolled up just to come over and try to woo you. lol

(Off topic but funny) The other day my friend went on a first date with a guy she just met. Not only did he wear jeans and runners to a pretty upscale place.. his fingernails were dirty. He couldn't even take a bath for the occasion. SMH.. but its still hilarious.

More like, making a great deal of noise, fighting other men and hope for the off-chance of rape.

All animals are, not underrated, but misunderstood.

Also, Syn, that is kinda what guys do. We are different animals than birds, different biology, different instincts. Guys do try to woo girls, we just don't decorate our nest. Look to the apes for a more realistic idea of how humans used to live. Romance is much like a drug because it can alter your behavior. I think romance is a bit unnatural. Kind of like religion. It's an illusion pulled over your eyes to sweeten the truth, which is that everyone is individualistic, and you can think you are in a loving relationship for ten years before she bails with half your savings and the car. I think it would be cool if girls had a collapsible tail feather that could blow into a huge umbrella when it rained, but alas, that's a different species :)

Theres an animal (I forget what it was) but it has the one partner for life, if one dies the other remains single.

I thought it wasn't that interesting until I saw him mimicking that car alarm lol. And then the awesomeness started.

Yeah but the awesomeness that is David Attenborough made up for it lolz

He always reminds me of the guy that gets killed in Monty Python Holy Grail..

They have a repertoire of sounds. They could have picked up a sound from a week ago, and it became part of it's usual 'serenation'. The forest might be close to a house or touristic spot, or the bird got ahold of it if it was in a different area.
