It was originally supposed to be a street album, intended to be sold at swap meets and mom-and-pop stores and shit, underground style. But I guess at some point, Pac just said fuck it and threw in "Toss It Up" and filmed a video for that and "To Live & Die in L.A." Keep in mind that "Toss It Up" wasn't recorded in the same recording sessions, it was before. E.D.I. said this in XXL about it:

That's a song that was already done. Suge had it done with Danny Boy and Jodeci on it. That's my least favorite song on Makaveli. 'Pac just got on that track and did his thing. That was some shit him and Suge had already worked out...
That's why it had a different feel to it. I'm assuming that after Pac decided to add it to Makaveli, they changed the beat a little bit, then Pac threw on his second verse along with the disses in the outro. But that's just speculation.

I have noticed even on the remastered version that when I play 'Blasphemy' in the car stereo, it seems certain elements of the song are amp'd too high...played alone without pac's voice its fine, but when he is rapping over it, it makes a sort of "static-sound"

If Makaveli was intended to be an underground album why on earth was "Toss It Up" on there? That sounds like a blatant commercial single to me. Only song i skip on the album.
Maybe it sounded better with the original Dre beat, i dont know
Toss it up OG = produced by dre?!?!

the same og that we all have?

Kind of. The OG essentially had the same beat as "No Diggity" by BLACKstreet, as we all know, which was produced by Dre. I heard that Dre made the beat while still signed to Death Row, so Suge could do whatever he wanted to with it, so he let it fall into other people's hands, so technically the Toss It Up OG was a Dre beat. Obviously, that's why in the outro (of the retail version) Pac was like, "Yeah, we took y'all beat! 'Cause you wasn't rockin' it right!"

When Dre left DeathRow he let Blackstreet have the No Diggity beat which then forced Pac to have to change the beat to it and which then he added his last verse dissin Dre.

Why would you up a thread from October without reading if that's been said before?

Yes, it has been said.
