well i do have a few threads, but they got moved to the dont stop the music section. i regularly post music there so people can discover some new stuff all the time... another thread "The New West" (see my signature) about newer west coast artists.. still includes some old stuff, or new artists working with older artists. or old artists releasing new stuff (i.e. Young Maylay who often works with Ice Cube, WC, DJ Crazy Toones and King T).

we need to see what makes other boards successful and take a cue or two. how can other hip hop boards have more posters than us? is it because we have become are too tight community? is it because we don't have exclusive? leaks? etc. i don't really post elsewhere than here. i pass by a couple of times a week, but don't post at each of my visit.

Is it because we don't really discuss hip-hop? :p
We have a thread about Dre or Eminem from time to time, most non-hip-hop boards would have more on these topics. The last serious hip-hop discussions we had was 2 or 3 years ago, if not more.

so should we change ths focus of this board? streethop used to be great because it focused on 2pac. i think to have a great board and website you need to specialize on a certain topic. general boards don't seem to ever do that well compared to specialized boards.

also to outsiders we probably look like a tight community who only posts about funny pictures or random life events that most probably don't interest them :(

or we are so cool that we make them all shy. So they see our amazing lives, observe and then leave depressed that they can't be as cool as we are :)
Guys, we can help you, just start posting!

The hip hop news on this forum is slow as fuck compared to elsewhere. I read rap news on non rap forums quicker than SH does. Aint dissin only sayin.

Plus it was a Tupac site, now it aint, and even if it was what else is there to say?

Boards like Dubcc have something in common - the majority of music is from their local area. They support these artists through and through. and for those who arent from that area will support them anyway because its mainly west coast... all the users have that in common. they allow for new artists to come through. tis board doesnt have a region of music in common, but what it does have is a variety of topics. so in some ways its better and other ways not. to put it simply dubcc has cohesion because of music origin; SH has cohesion because of everyday type of music.

This board and site is independent right? Other sites are not and they seem to get exclusives, interviews etc etc. 2dopeboyz i know is a blog, but they get music in ASAP and that's why i visit them as my no.1 hip-hop source for downloads now.

the intelligence of other boards is not even a comparison to some members on this board though... and that's partly the reason why i continue here for general discussion.

For Streethop to grow as a blog and as a forum, it needs 100% dedication from its owners (Rukas, Jon, and some other new guys?). Right now, I don't think it's getting that. And that is fine with me, in the sense that, I'm not in a position to tell Rukas where his priorities should be. It is what it is.

well get used to it stred and flipmo, yeah, that's what happend ... too many times.

Plus, the reason why we all came here (except for stred) was to discuss Pac. Well, that's done, everything is discussed, there are no news and nobody believes that he's coming back ... (that was different the 7th, 10th and 13th anniversary of his death). So. pac ain't a topic no more. Which leads us to the rest of HipHop/Rap ..... what is hot now? Justin B.? Well, I guess his fans chat somewhere else, not here which is positiv I guess. The third point that I think of is that even the Co Founder Rukas kinda turned his back on Rap and does something else. He should do whatever he feels like, but after all this is/was a Rap board..... and we all kinda grow old I guess. I listen to my stuff, barley pay attention to 'new' hiphop. So well, that might be a reason as well.

Still, I keep checking the board every now and then. I kinda grew up with you guys. lol.
