Why do people say biggie and pac is the greatest?

I have been wondering about this for a while, but really didnt pay it no mind. But is people trying to just put biggie on the top level, out of some type of respect for new york or something? Or just trying to put him on top to keep it a Makaveli vs Biggie thing?

I dont get it?

Because biggie has only what lol 3 albums? Badboy was big back in the days, but pac and deathrow and other major westcoast rappers really did put them to shame.

Biggie cant be the greatest rappers, and i dont believe that. I can name about 5 other rappers that has more albums then him, maybe less and has a better style then biggie.

I think all this is bs tho, someone is lying to make him look good or to keep him on the same with pac. Because from my eyes, biggie is in the back of the line.

Hell, spice 1 has a better style then biggie.

I personally think that Biggie is overrated but everybody's got their own opinions.

Because biggie has only what lol 3 albums?
I don't think the number of the albums recorded has anything to do with how good the rapper is. Is Tupac the greatest because he's got a gadzillion albums? I don't think so. It's got more to do with the influence he had.

I think all this is bs tho, someone is lying to make him look good or to keep him on the same with pac. Because from my eyes, biggie is in the back of the line.
It's got a lot to do with dickriding I'm sure. We see far too many dickriding on both sides. Also, the fact that dead rappers are always overrated because there is some unexplainable attraction towards dead rappers.

a lot of people do like biggie and pac and have always liked them even when they were alive but most people i think just like them just because of the fact that they are dead.

People say they are the greatest cos they both died at the peak of their careers and we never got to see them 'fall off', so they're always remembered as being at the top of the game.

k first off the shit pac still has comming out is some of his greatest and he wouldve never fallen off sorry to tell you just because the beats arent good doesent mean the lyrics arent look at bettter dayz if you ask me one of his best cds ever and your saying that tupac wouldve fallen off you dont even deserve to call yourself a tupac fan
but anyways biggie had the lyrics to spit but when he put them in song form he didnt have much unlike pac who could actually make the best songs out there

I agree. Everytime I hear Spice 1, he rips it. I give respect to Biggie for his freestylin' talents and all, but I think Spice 1 was the better rapper. But that's my opinion.

the reason is because damn near 10 years after there deaths we still talk about hem, miss them & mourn them that's why I don't care what nobody say like Jadakiss say dead rappers get the best promotion which isn't true there have been several rappers who have died but we don't talk about them that much everytime a new rapper come out we say he's trying to flow like Biggie or he trying to be Pac which if you notice like Nas said everybody has gotten a little Pac in their style everybody has took a piece of Pac & I say Pac because I can still listen to him & find something he rap about and say I know how he feel

Biggie is so overrated it's ridiculous! I tried giving his music a chance. But I don't like ANY of it. Pac also had his best selling album when he was alive. So I don't think people like him for the fact that he's dead. No album since he has been gone, has sold more than AEOM(A Pac Album). I personally don't think there will be anyone like him again. He was a one off. As for Biggie, well...................I don't see what was so good about his music, to be honest with you. But that is just my opinion, and my 2cents worth

by the number of albums logic, you'd be saying Snoop is better than Chino XL :-/
Did u ever hear chino Xl? His raps r annoying , "I leave crowds jumpin like dennis rodmen ", "stabe ppl like joe peciy in casino"... he needs 2 shut tha fuk up lol. He a dork man.

But yea i was thinkin bout this b4 class 2day. Bigge had a good flow but all he would say is his name or how he was lyricaly untouchable. Dont get me wrong biggie was nice, but hes good but 2pac is on another level.

I dont think any1 would be able to touch wut 2pac did at the age of 25 or even 40 lol.I kno 25 yr olds who live at home still. We all know what 2pac did so i dont need to go on and on, jus watch resurection or sumthin.

but no 1 gives back the way he did and no 1 put their career on the line like 2pac did trying 2 make a difference.. He had style class and a meaning.

But not many ppl put Biggie n pac in the same catagory anymore really , ppl who hate rap with a passion always say "well i have respect 4 2pac" or "i only like 2pac". I never hurd that about biggie.

I think ppl just like 2 show Biggie respect. they were the only rappers who got better with every album.

Biggie I thought is overrated because u can't put out 2 albums and be considered the best but he does make good music & I agree Pac being dead don't mean people like you afterwards it says that you don't know what you got until it's gone which alot rappers say that rebel or the one who got the guts to say anything

She never got to see the bullet, just heard the shot
Her little body couldn't take it, it shook and dropped
And when I saw it on the news I see busta girl killin 'Tasha
Now I'm screamin fuck the world, in the end

Stressin like a motherfuckin drug dealer
And even in the darkest nights, I'm a Thug for Life
I got the heart to fight now
Mama raised a hellraiser why cry
That's just life in the ghetto, do or die

^^this ability to describe ghetto narratives is why Pac is the best.

I'm not saying people like him just because he's dead. I'm saying, when a rapper dies, there is some kind of an aura that surrounds that person, especially Tupac, because he rapped about death and dying. I think people are pulled in by the death in different ways. I honestly believe that Tupac is a bigger legend today because he died when he died.

Also, how many of the sales for AEOM came after his death? eh?

But I'm XL so yo, you know the outcome
Another victory, keep that gun in your holster
My rhymes is off the wall like my Big Daddy Kane poster
I gets a lot of love to be such a hated man
Come into the cipher on some bullshit but you're leaving as a Chino fan
That's how I know I'm God; nobody believes in me
I make you wait while I stand in handicapped parking legally
Erik Estrada making chips
Handling fists to get rich
I'm going overboard like strungled Africans off of ships
Illest lyrics ever invented, said it, meant it
You're hearing more claps than inside a Vietnam V.D. clinic
Get it? Listen inattentive and get no wins
Don't make me get beside myself like identical twins
My cynical friends still quoting my old rhymes, my mind is a gold mine
The shit is bugged like Martin Luther King's phone lines
Closed minds mass phenomenon, starving like Ramadan
If lines was episodes of Star Trek you niggas couldn't Kling-on
Bugged out metaphor
Got east coast bitches saying "No he didn't"
While down south bitches be like "Oh no, hell no"
I made a man blind
So he didn't have to witness the wickedness of world gone cold
Falling off on stages like Bob Dole
Trying to keep my balance
Cause good and evil are having a custody battle over my soul
Like Macaulay Culkin's parents
My hair's like lamb's wool, so fuck what your friends say
You don't want to get off on the wrong foot like Kunta Kente
So now it's going down, ta-dow
Niggas better learn how to rhyme
Before they tell the lyrical Jesus he should bow down
Love your enemies, even in the lion's den
Turn them to a pillar of salt, forgive them Father they know not why they sin
Niggas coming sideways, and I've been lettin it pass
But now I'm half past giving a shit
in the court cuz I'ma bust your fucking ass!

Chino XL is the benzino of 96. Dissing ppl to gain respect which lead to nothing but becoming a joke.

"In clubs niggas try to pull me like i drive an alaskin bob sled"... "I worked hard 2 get this large , Ima retire every rapper from life with dishonorable discharge"

He worked hard to get how large?

The biggest fame he got was "Chino Xl fuck u 2 all , u mother fuckers fuck u 2, my 44 makes sure all yo kids dont grow"..... hmmm yea he made a big accomplishment.

What rappers did he retire from life?? he was sorry to ever diss 2pac and was like" i didnt kno he was going 2 get that mad " .. man c mon the guys a joke im not gonna address his lame ass again.
