Who's Filied With TurboTax Before?

Simple Question.

I have a few questions for those of you that have filed your taxes with TurboTax before.

I used TurboTax Deluxe 2007 to file mine a few days ago. I finished both the Federal and State and I then finished by doing it electronically. Meaning there's no mailing involved. I'll get my refund directly deposited into my bank account.

When I check my e-file status, it says my Federal has been accepted. My state is still pending and it has been for like 3 days. I thought it would be accepted within 24-48 hours? Next to my federal that's been accepted, it says "Select continue to get required forms and information".

When I do that, it then says..

"Your printout will include any additional forms required by the goverment to complete your return. We'll only print forms you need."

"What Will Print:

- Your electronic postmark - proof of when you e-filed.
- Any required federal or state forms. Explain This
- Filing Instructions"

My main question is if I did it the "e-file" way instead of through mail, do I NEED to print out and mail anything at all? I was assuming they're telling me this incase I want to print shit out just to have. If you've used TurboTax and can answer my question, i'd appreciate it. :thumb:

I use Turbo Tax every year. You don't need to print anything out unless you just want to have a paper record. Turbo Tax automatically files and saves everything on line. It has every tax return on file since I started using it years ago.

Thanks. :thumb: I just didn't want to sit here and think "oh great, i'm gonna get my money Febuary 8th!" and I had no idea I had to print something out, sign it and mail it out.. lol.

Thanks again.

I don't know what's up with your state. Maybe you didn't finish e-filing. I think you do the federal first. It will say you finished the federal and then right afterwards you start filing state. And at the end it should tell you you're done with that too. Just go and check your account and see if you've successfully filed both. I've never had to file one online then one in the mail. Doesn't really make too much sense.

Depends, sometimes my state takes longer to be accepted. Other times, I would check and they would tell me it's something I need to correct, verify or fill out. Make sure there are no error messages on your state.

When you say your state takes longer, how much longer do you mean exactly? Cause I did this on like Thursday and now it's Monday. I checked for corrections and it said everything is correct. There's no errors. My girlfriends state is also taking a while. I did her taxes on Friday. As long as something isn't wrong, then i'm fine. But if there's something wrong and it doesn't go through, then i'd like to know.. lol.

My state took a little over a week to go through, city taxes took even longer. If there's nothing wrong, you're fine. They send you an e-mail if something is wrong letting you know what you need to go back and correct. If you haven't gotten anything like that, you should be fine.

It went through. I checked my email this morning. I shouldn't have assumed Saturday and Sunday count. They aren't considered business days, lol. Thanks.

State returns always take a little longer. I remember last year when I had to file for Maryland I did not get that refund until March a month after I have received my federal refund. It all depends on the state you are filing your return for and when they start accepting returns.

When I file I do have to print something out for my city taxes and mail it in. I didn't do it last year and they sent me a notice that I need to.
