What will happen to his music when Afeni dies?

#1
Anybody know who will gain creative control of his music when his mother dies or know if any original songs will be released as is without taking any artists off his song being replaced with other new age crap artists?

I know it was actually totally random while I was watching an old interview on youtube earlier today about artists talking about how they were takin off his songs and replaced with other people.

Yeah that is kind of what I figured. Well in any case I hope somebody puts out his songs in original format someday without stripping off and replacing artists.

Any info on when's a new album coming out? There was that rumored album a few years already when that new company bought his portfolio or something? It was supposed to be OG only?

They bought the rights to DR album that was negotiated with Amaru when Tupac died. They get to choose from DR material. The specifics of the album I don't know though. I imagine Wideawake will be the same let down all the others are. And that Amaru won't allow an OG album to be released.

Too much talk, not enough action. As I said Tupac is currently irrelevant. Who is going to by his album now? His 100,000 hardcore fans? I doubt it. How many left on here? How many on other Tupac forums? Of all those on other forums, how many have jobs? How many are over 15? It's been too long. And besides half dozen people in this thread, no-one gives a shit.

I stopped buying 2pac albums. I didn't buy the double sided one... Can't even remember the name. It was Thug and Life, or something? And I consider myself one of his most dedicated fans. Like everyone here I signed up to a 2pac message board. And if I stopped...... Surely all those that bought his album because he was visual, and outspoken and appearing on all the channels on tv, ie. casual fans, have stopped too.

Actually Pittsey, I stopped buying his records because they sucked by taking Johnny J as record producer off his songs and taking guest artists off his songs replacing them with whack artists of the last few years.

Exactly.... If his more dedicated fans have stopped. Why would the kids who were born after he died, buy them?

i think they should probably, with any legitimate release, release completed songs in original form
without that - not at all
they have to much discretion or not enough with parts of songs or dif takes
and with the completed songs their habit of remixing to cut corners that may at times result in a bang for that buck but mostly and reputation wise the effect is what they paid for with the cause proven unnecessary

the good thing is Pac was an artist an entertainer that was built to last and his work was too,if you assume there's marketing problems then it could be corrected.
but therere enough people currently in the industry that have marketing success which can quickly turn into problems as soon as fans' taste change

Well no one could have ever seen the current state of music coming. Pac had the perfect plan. He had all these songs that were already done and all his estate had to do was release them the way he intended. Instead, they chopped them all up and destroyed them and left all the rest to be unreleased. If I were him I would be so un-rested and not at peace. No offense to his mother but she didn't do that great of a job with his music he left behind after the first few albums. I hope his sister does something with his music someday in its original format.

Is anyone else wondering what happened to all those tapes and videos that haven't still been released to the public?
We are not getting any new material officially, and there are fewer and fewer leaks, with people who had songs caring less or.. dying. There were efforts to reobtain 2pac's songs by 2pac's estate, but even those were not released fully, and we know that 2pac's songs and recordings were like a currency after he died, moving between different people, some tracks probably got lost forever, which is a really sad thought.

I remember reading an interview with one of the Bay Area artists who said someone gave his tracks with 2pac to Afeni (which he portrayed as the greatest act of great will) and she went there directly to pick them up and thank him and I was like "holy hell, she didn't have THAT? We've all heard it from the leaks". We know how Deathrow was and how much 2pac material they had, some of which probably not turned over. Now there's no Deathrow as well.
There have to be songs that were not turned over, and I wonder what's the scale of that. Hell, I'm sure Suge himself has some tapes that he bumps or brags about in private. The 2pac estate has dwindled and I guess the efforts are tiny these days. While I'm sure more songs or videos exist somewhere, at this point nobody might know where they are for some of them, and there's hardly anyone to care to get them back.

Then there are songs in estate's physical possession, that they somehow didn't release yet, even with the "All Eyez On Me Movie" putting the spotlight on 2pac again and all, I wonder why. There's still plenty of decent songs that we've heard leaks of that are still unreleased, some quite good.

It makes it feel like only the fans care at this point, and it's crazy how they aren't doing anything while there are still fans who care. I don't think it's how 2pac would have wanted it, as most of all, he always wanted his words to be heard.

To be honest, the bootlegging and trading that Dante and co did probably ruined the chances of any of these being released.

I guess we got the music, so that's cool, but people wont spend the time and energy to find the original files and remix, remaster, and update them anymore.
