I think while the X5 is the proper BMW SUV, the X3 isn't bad. I'd prefer it over the Touareg. Going for a SUV I wouldn't want the X1 but it's still an option.

The 911 is becoming more appealing. But spending money on cars is a waste these days. I remember losing 10k on a car in a year. I don't ever want to do that again. I am sort of, still paying for that car, and I got rid of it in 2006... lol...

I think the Infiniti FX is also a pretty nice SUV-esque car. I wouldn't recommend a BMW SUV; they are pretty bland on the inside. If you want some luxury, look to Lexus GX or the Acura MDX. It's a proper car, but not too flashy. Unless that's what you're going for. Then get the Range Rover Sport and tear ass.

I've been driving since I was 16. Maintaing cars can get expensive and frustrating. You have to pay for the car lease (unless you're a baller and can dish out cash), insurance and gas. You risk getting in accidents every day (i've been in 2 myself as a driver, and 6 total as a passenger). Traffic is frustrating, not good for your mental health lol. Parking is expensive everywhere in the city so driving to work is just stupid. Also, parking where I live costs money (I'd have to pay $100/month just so I can park below my building). My bus pass to go everywhere in the city and its outer limits unlimited is $100 a month. But most importantly, having a car is a guarantee that I'll drive drunk. Since I know myself, I know I can't not drive drunk (after 3-4 drinks that is, I'm pretty good about not driving hammered) so I'd rather just eliminate the possibility.
This is part of the reason I don't own a car. I'm fucking horrible for drinking and driving, or at least I was when I owned a car (2 years gone now). I'd like to think I've grown up a bit since then. If I lose my license I lose my job, not worth it.

That aside, I fancy myself a good driver (at least when sober). Never been in an accident other than when I was passenger.

Why'd you even include the passenger one? Are you a bad passenger? I hate bad passengers. Sit back there, Mr. Bad Passenger, I know what I'm doing.

P.S. Sorry if anyone was killed/maimed in the accident.

I had a Golf. Best car I ever had. Never had any mechanical problems in 3 years even though it had done 120,000 miles. I also sold it for more than I bought it for.

I am now probably going to buy a 5 year old Ford Focus as my daily driver. Because they are cheap. I am looking for a 911. But not 100% sure that I will buy it. It's the balance between spending and saving.

Yeah, I know that feel. What year Golf did you have? I settled on a 2008 with all the extras, I just like the shape of the MK5 better than the MK6 to be honest. And it's a daily drive.

I love the car, handles great, lots of fun, very quick, but, Ive already replaced the coils, and now Ive got a coolant leak caused by a whole in the bottom left radiator. If you had the MK5, odds are you had the same problem ;)

Im kind of over sports cars, re: your 911 purchase. My obsession for speed kind of quit after I came off my motorbike, no car lives up to the thrill of two wheels, but I just cant get a sports bike anymore, maybe later, but not right now. Im scared shitless of the way I ride them to be honest.

So I thought some off roading might be a cool weekend experience, thus like I said my next purchase will be a Jeep. Unless the house market gets better here and then Ill buy an investment and put toys on hold for a bit ;)

Mine was a while ago. It was a MK4. I bought a sensible car because I had just lost 10k depreciation on a car that I'd had for a year. So I thought I'd be sensible. I have been sensible ever since. But I promised myself a 911 when I was a kid, and I don't want to break that promise really.

I made a long ass post but deleted it. In a nutshell, if you can afford a 911, you don't need a ford focus. get your shit straight. lol

still love ya pitts.
