Does anybody notice how the UTEOT version is offbeat? I did a remix joint the OG way and I was told by numerous people that it was "offbar", so.. which version is actually properly mixed? OG or UTEOT Version?

I'm going with the OG, the rhymes flow much better this way and this is the way Pac had wanted it to be.

The UTEOT version doesn't sound off beat to me.I suppose that The trackmasters (who remixed the song) hasn't just lay the pella over the remixed beat they have probably cut the pella in order to make it match the remixed beat better.It's a good job.
I love the OG though.

off beat and off bar are two completely different things. maybe it wasn't your bpm that was off, but rather where you began your mix.

Ha ha, yeah but... come on you know some of his stuff will have to be remixed for one reason or another and when they are its good when the remix comes out like this one. I mean how do you get from Friends OG to Fuck Friendz UTEOT fuckin R'n'B version????????? Or Thugz Get Loneley Too????? Gotta give credit when they do actually get one right.:thumb:

I like both versions, the remix was nice cos it had a different vibe than the OG but it worked well.

WHat i truly dont understand is why would they put 2 remixes of that song on the album with 2 different singers..... why not put 1 OG and the RL version.

I hate the UTTEOT version... always did.. 1st time I heard it I was workin on my car listenin to the radio and it was a hot 97 exclusive and I was like "WTF" thru the whole song.. wasnt feelin it then and still not feelin it... The OG is 100x's better!

100% agreed... i think that this is one remix that was completely different than the OG but they still pulled it off... I think it's probably one of the (if not the) best posthumous remixes they've put out... I love the OG too, but they have a completely different vibe, the OG being a much more laid back chill sound.... but you def have to give them credit for getting this one right... look at all the other songs they've put out that they basically destroyed... how about - "thug in me" -oh wait, they screwed that up 2 times on the same album!

I liked the OG personally, because the emotion of the song was altered with the retail version. In the OG, he expresses his sadness through his lyrics, but it's as if he was looking on the brighter side of things with the outro and the beat. It was somewhat uplifting, in a wierd way.

OG is great, the remix is good too, i just cant understand how someone got the idea to change that song so much. the accepella has been changed a lot to fit the new beat, why not just release the OG and use that beat for a song which would fit it better...
