Most of the wildlife doesn't die in the water. Fish do, yes, and are promptly consumed by their colleagues. That's how the eco-chain works.

Wait, what? Why the fuck am I elaborating on this? You just equated swimming in normal water to swimming a corpse filled river, LOL.

lmao @ you and casey defending this. Pathetic.
It's not filled with corpses Dukey, I went on a "cruise" and I didn't see one. Only pieces of cloth, but no corpses. Only cow corpses. Like I said, only the impure human corpses are thrown in the river.

By the way, here's what's wrong with India, if you don't mind reading this... Their number 1 problem is that, unlike China, they have a democratic political system. They are the largest democracy on the planet.

Which means: They cannot move a whole village just to build a dam. If they do that, they'll have to do their electoral map all over again. It's not that bad? Try moving 500.000 voters (yes it's a village in India) in the slowest bureaucracy in the world (a gift from the Brits).

Also, they "have" to be transparent. They are not always, but if you're American, you cannot whine about them not having an absolute transparent government. So they have to give a reason for everything they do, they cannot censor Facebook, youtube and google... So you know everything about India... You see pictures like these easily and you have an awful perception of the country just because their "culture" is different. Yes, some of them may live like animals and live in the streets, but who am I to judge that... I come from the Balkans, we kill each other because of a flag. I live in Canada, where we still treat the Natives like it's 1725...

China is fucked up too, it's just that you don't see everything... Same as the States. I felt more secure in the middle of the night in Mumbai than 3PM in Washington. You walk 100m from the God damned White House and you're in the ghetto... Not like an English ghetto, not like a Dutch ghetto, not even like a Bosnian ghetto... During those 5 minutes in that street in Washington, I felt exactly like how I felt during the war... If I walk too fast, will I run into a bullet, or if I walk too slow, will a bullet hit me...

All I'm saying is, don't judge a country because some fucking Chinaman decided to post them on the web. hehe.

Btw, I have nothing against China... :)

So the anger is against the Chinese people, not members on here? I didn't feel I was part of it, but it seems like tension was running high between Duke, Casey, and VG. As cultured as Duke may be, I thought maybe he didn't know, from experience, what it was like there. I don't know either, but I know from experience what it isn't. But I do know from word-of-mouth, how bad it can get and these pictures just brought them to light for me since I hadn't been there before.
Not at all, it could have been the American tourists and I would have posted most of the same things I've posted but it's just that a Chinese dude posted these on the web and it reminded me of the enormous lack of respect that I've seen from them towards the Indians...

Don't only pay attention to that part of my post, read the rest...

Do they feel as if this makes them closer to the dead? (Not being sarcastic.. just curious). By praying and bathing in the river where the corpses are?
The Ganges is their connection to the Gods. If they bathe in it, they are "purified". That's why all the dead are there. To be purified before the next life, because everyone has to start off equally, including the criminals(who are thrown into the river without being burned).

Btw, I saw an incineration live and I felt like shit for watching it.

I also felt like shit because I once saw a bus burn during the war with some people in it and it had a unique smell... It's that day that I understood what that smell was. :S

I showed the pictures to my prof. She's a History PHd, and Indian history specialist. She practically spends 6 months out of the year there working with women, and children. Anyways, she said that she's may have seen it once or twice in the 15+ years she's been going to India. She was pretty shocked needless to say, took it pretty personal.

India has a rich history and culture. One of my top 10 destinations to visit some day, and their women are gorgeous. Also, good food, despite the spiciness ruining my anal cavity :(

Oh, and fuck China.

Her work mostly involves gender, sexuality and health (like the public system, homeopathy, etc). It's not that she doesn't work with men either, but as of late mostly women, so she says.

That's what I picture the entirety of Eastern Europe to look like.

I don't know if you consider ex-Yugoslavia as Eastern Europe, as it's the Balkans, but if you do, I'll post 23423049 pictures :)

Also, thanks for that link Simon, I just spent 30 minutes reading all of that.
