...Why?
A bit hard to get into the draft talk when your team has 2 second round picks at numbers 43 and 58. The Lakers have 6 potential free agents at nearly every position on their roster. Farmar (restricted FA), Shannon (player option), and Fisher (unrestricted FA, it's kind of a given that Fisher returns), Morrison, Powell, Mbenga are also unrestricted FA’s that could all be on another roster next season. Not to mention Phil Jackson's decision that is being waited upon with the same anxiety Cavs fans are having. Anyway, these guys could all be gone next season.Joe Johnson is ready to sign if the Bulls are interested.
A replacement for Hinrich is available if the Bulls want to spend the cap room they just created on Johnson.
There has been talk for months that the Atlanta shooting guard was hoping to land in Chicago and nothing has changed. Johnson was already a summer regular at the Berto Center, based on his friendship with Bulls guard Jannero Pargo, a college teammate at Arkansas.
Johnson would answer the Bulls' need for better outside shooting. He averaged 21.3 points last year, his fifth straight season of at least 20 per game, and shot 45.8 percent from the field.
One issue, though, is if the Bulls end up with Johnson and James, what would they do with forward Luol Deng? A trade would be in order, but it will be difficult to move Deng because of the $51 million remaining on his contract.
Maybe if the Bulls included Taj Gibson, they could pull off a sign-and-trade for one of the available power forwards.
^lol i trade the picks sometimes too in nba 2k10 when i try to get rid of a shitty contract.
i heard farmar aint signing with the lakers. i wonder where morrisons going, dude was a monster in college, unstoppable offensive player.
spurs drafted a solid scorer. now we gotta rid of jeffersons bum ass hopefully for a athletic sf or a defensive stopper who can shoot 3s.
i dont think the bulls should sign johnson. johnson thinks hes a max player which he is not. waste of money imo. it would be interesting to trade deng and others for a pf.
During free agency, I've never been able to negotiate a contract outside of what a player wants. It gets so annoying paying some none starter $3-5m a year. Anyway, it's always great when you get rid of a bad contract. Just because you throw in some lowly draft picks the computer is more willing to make the trade. What a loophole.
What ever happened to Ammo? I mean everyone knows he was set to have a bright career, Kobe even said on that show that he can play. Somehow he just hasn't lived up to it at all. I guess it's his demeanor on the bench that I'll miss. In game 1 when Artest and Pierce went on the ground, he didn't even react, he was just looking at them like nothing was going on. Farmar wants to lead a team as a starting point guard. Really, I don't see that happening. He's good coming off the bench and he does work hard off the court. He can be the next PG on the Lakers but, he might not be willing to wait for Fisher to call it quits with basketball.
Cracks me up each time you refer to Jefferson as "bum ass".
As for the Lakers draft picks, turns out Ebanks could be a win. Caracter could be a fail.
Oh yeah, Johnson isn't a max player for sure. However, he does have some nights when he sure plays like one.
Lebron is willing to meet with the Nets? I didn't see that one coming.
lebrick with bosh are going to the bulls.
Totally not hoops related but how good are those "Beats by Dr Dre" headphones? I read this article LeBron and Kobe Team Up - TrueHoop Blog - ESPN and it had me thinking. $350 for a set of headphones, they better last forever. Forever? Forever ever?.......
As you said, Lebron and Bosh to the Bulls according to reports. If Lebron changes teams and doesn't sell more jerseys than Bryant this year, I'd be surprised. I know Bryant is bigger in China and that's like a whole different planet when you consider the population. Whats up with D-wade? Still tied up in court?

I'd rather Lebron not go to Chicago for the simple fact it'll be unresistible for people to not compare him to MJ even more than they already do.
comparisons will be made no matter what even thou both their game styles are different
Earlier Monday, Fox Sports Radio's Stephen A. Smith reported on his morning radio show and via his Twitter feed that James and Bosh have committed to joining Wade in Miami. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper, in a report on its website Monday afternoon, quoted a source close to Wade as saying that the 2006 NBA Finals MVP "believes his team is poised to pull off a free-agency coup" by signing James and Bosh and re-signing Wade.
Richard Jefferson has opted out of the final season of his contract.
Jefferson would have earned $15.2M in the final year of his contract.
