im sure you're familiar with players that do well when they're brought up from the minors but werent starters during the regular season right?? so many in the past have done what braun and gallardo have done but have done poorly after that... jacoby ellsbury is in the same boat as well... this is the season that we watch to see if they continue their great playing from last year.... if you think about it, neither of the three have proven themselves over the course of an entire season... there's something about starting the season as a starter for the youth that sometimes fucks with them and makes them have a bad season... we saw liriano two seasons ago and due to an injury he was out all last season.... taking away the fact he was injured, would you still feel confident saying that liriano is a great player?
we'll see this season how they do as full time starters... i dont think the cubs really have anyone in the same boat as gallardo, braun, etc... it's all veterans... pinning the success of the team on fukudome would be stupid, but he is definitely a huge step up from jacque jones last year in both offense and defense, and jones was pretty good as it is... our pitching last year wasnt amazing, but we added a bit more to it...
ah, i dunno..... we'll see.. i just said we'd beat the brewers, not win the WS....
