i sell car audio for a living

what is your price range and how loud do you want your system

i am currently running 2500w to a audio que hd12 and i cant even see when i turn it up :)

ive had the pleasure of running almost every good spl sub imaginable and for the $$ i would have to say resonant engineering is the best follwed by brands like incriminator, adire, beyond audio, memphis, eclipse, digital designs, AQ, fusion ect ect

Your question is very broad. Just stick with JBL. Go for a two 12" subs and two 6*9 with two ampls one little on powering up the shelf speakers. just goto a audio shop and get free info of them

I have me two 12" Eclipse Aluminum', i would recommend those, hit hard and very smooth. Truthfully you should quit fucking around and go get some w7's.

Anyone who wants a good quality system gets 6x9', also 6 1/2's and some tweeters, and subs, you need more than just bass for good sounding music.

i jus thought, the guy sed he was gonna fit it in the back, where the boot is..... that thing which cover it........ mine isnt hard like wood or nething... i dnt think it would hold some speakers. the guy only ask me if i got one not what it was made of. so you think it would still work, if its not wood (or somthin like that)?

Get your mids and tweets, for highs and mids.

Then get subs for bass.

6x9's do all 3. They are a compromise. They are also pretty poor.

Best to buy high end mids and tweets for a good sounding system. You can get away with mid end subs, like the cheaper Rockford ones.

EDIT - These are the speakers in my car - top ones - http://www.caraudiodiscount.com/acatalog/focal_k2_power_component.html

I got two sets of them, and I matched them with an Xtant power amp and a couple of 10 inch MTX thunder subs.

Make one out of MDF, and cover it so it looks standard still and no-one can see your speakers.

Thats pretty much what i said, get 6x9's and 61/2's for your door speakers and tweets, and some subs. If you have a good enough deck you can EQ each seperate speaker. Maybe im the only who actually spends money on this shit.

Nah. I spend money too. I just don't like 6x9's. lol
I got 2 sets of mids and tweets which cost me $2500. Then I got a little amp to run them, so I can adjust the gain and get the sound right. They came with little crossover boxes with adjustments on them. I then got a $1000 power amp and 2 heavy duty subs for bass. I need a new headunit though. I'm after a new head unit though, I want the alpine 1 with the ipod docking station.

So yeah I've spent a bit. However I'm in the process of buying a new car. So I want to transfer all this to my new "weekend" car. I want my daily runaround to stay standard, cos I want to leave it in shit areas without losing $5K of stereo.

See i have 6x9's in the backseat like normal cars, and 6 1/2's up front in the doors with tweets in my door, 2 amps runnin to each set of speakers and they have crossover units also, they don't fuck around when it comes to diamond. i have two 1000 watt Xtant amps running 2 12" Eclipse Aluminum subs, in a dope enclosure, i should upload a pic sometime. My deck is the Kenwood DDX7015, tight unit that is flush with my dash, nothing pops out or nothing, dope shit, i hate that tacky lookin shit so i went with this. I have kenwoods navi system too, real nice. The tightest thing is i can hook up a mic to my deck and hold it anywhere in the car and it will EQ my sound so that each speaker hits that one spot all at once. But i like talkin systems so i did, peace.
