Scanners that track police activity

I do have a radar detector. And yes, they do work although usually by the time it sounds off, the cop already has you on radar.

However, it proves useful in certain situations. For example, when you're driving at night and your radar detector goes off, letting you know there's a cop around and you can then slow down or maintain the speed limit whereas you might have driven a bit more reckless not knowing there was a cop around.

So it does not work then if you say by the time it sounds off (alarms that cops are near) the police already has you on the radar speed.

lol how the fuck do you guys confuse a police scanner that officers and dispatch user to communicate to each other with a radar detector?

a police scanner will let you hear the communication going on between emergency services/911/dispatch and the LEO's in their cars or stations. yes, they work. my grandfather used to have his going on all the time. but in order to really ask find out if it will work for you, you will need to figure out what exactly you are trying to user it for. you hear where the responder is being sent to, you might even hear the person calling in and y ou will hear what they are being dispatched for

No I dont need to find out what emergency and police are radioing to each other. I just need a scanner that will alert me when I'm near the police to slow down for example if I'm going to fast.

To avoid speeding tickets, seat belt (dont like wearing them) and talking on the phone tickets.

^What he said in both of his posts.

This thread failed.

And to save you the time no radar detector or anything else is going to actually work. Save yourself the money and do the speed limit.

What a fucking dick. So you want to be a flagrant deviant? Here's what I suggest you do; drink a lot of bourbon, hop on your bike with your electric radio in your back pocket and listen to it. While driving, drive off one of the many bridges of NYC, and into the water. You are a waste of life. Why do you breath my air? Why haven't you been neutered? Why are you still reading this and not doing what I just told you to do?

This is a great tool for those of you who drive drunk.
And for people who want to avoid fines and summits.

This would be a great tool if it actually worked (I dont know maybe there are some good ones that work). Being the person who doesn't like wearing seat belts, Its always a hassle constantly looking around where the cops might be lurking. And it would save me a lot of ticket fines to.

Well, if you continue with the ticket fines, your mom might have to work another shift as weekend pussy.

I don't think so. A radar detector isn't going to help you see better or help you drive straight. When a cop suspects you of being drunk or anything suspicious (according to them..) - they'll follow you until you make a mistake. Obviously, a radar detector isn't going to help you if the coppers are riding your ass.

If you purchase a good detector, it will alert you of police presence even before you see the cop car. Mine cost me about $150 and it has saved me out of at least twice that amount in fines.

It isn't going to help you see better or help you drive straight but I think he meant when you're drunk and driving (which you shouldnt do), you're in a paranoia state of mind thinking where the cops are and shit. So the radar will help you to locate cops and when you do, you'll slow down so that the cop won't have the reason to stop you for speeding. Thats saying that you're not drunk to the point where you can't see things and shit.

This will help my situation. I drive often while intoxicated (not to the point where I'm wasted but see the road very well.) but if cops pull me over, they'll get suspicious once they look in my eye and see my eyes are red. So thats what I want to avoid - getting pulled over.

i don't know man, if you're gonna drive drunk and not wear a seatbelt, i kinda think you deserve to get caught. the day you go flying through your windshield, you may want to rethink the whole not wearing a seatbelt thing. i'd rather be uncomfortable than dead or seriously injured, but that's just me.

You know, before I thought you were just annoying and an attention seeker, perhaps a little dumb, but now I see you are just a fucking low life piece of shit.

You are a fucking idiot, seriously, the fact you drive drunk "often" plus dont want to wear a seat belt, man, are you retarded? Seriously.

And right now I could give a fuck about your life, but you driving drunk "often" plus the fact your mommy and daddy bought you a big truck for "safety" just makes you worthless scum because your dumb ass immature fucked up selfish moronic uneducated bama looser piece of shit scum bag actions put other peoples lives at risk.

You are fucking trash.

Im not one to wish death on anybody, but I hope you get pulled over by the cops and you lose your license and get deported just to make the streets safer from one less self centered idiot.

Now seriously, fuck off. I will ban you for fucking life if you even decided to come back at me with any sort of insult, you driving drunk "often" and being proud of it warrant any fucking abuse you'd get from me or anybody else in this thread.

You are a waste of space and you should be ashamed of yourself you arrogant piece of shit.

I'll give you some results -

I was on the highway and this particular police officer was facing the opposite direction on the side street - as soon as I got within 1/2 mile, my detector went crazy and flashed "LASER" on the screen. I was not in any threat of being pulled over at that time - I wasn't even speeding - but it was cool to see the thing work. It brought me comfort.

While driving on a straight but hilly road, my detector went crazy and flashed the "Ka" band. I figured it was the airport radar near-by since it goes off by the airport every time - but this time it was different - it was flashing the "Ka" band for good minute and the signal strength got stronger and stronger until finally I saw the state trooper's car. Once again, it brought me comfort knowing that the thing works.

The only times I got pulled over were;
a)the police knew I was speeding because it was obvious just by looking at other cars on the road and seeing the distance I was gaining.

b)a cop was hiding behind a bush and by the time he pointed his laser at me, it was too late.

I welcome any hate regarding my driving habits - I probably deserve that hate - but the thing is - I'm about 4 or 5 times safer than the safest senior citizen in a vehicle and the two times I've been in an accident were while driving below 45 mph.

looooooooooooooooool look at you. Finally decided to let it all out huh. Why are you barking anyway. What does this have to do with you? Who said I was proud to begin with.

Just for your information and I know you really want to hear this, when I say I often drive drunk I don't mean wasted drunk to the point where I don't see shit and killing people from left to right (as I've already pointed out). I mean I just have some drinks and feel little tipsy.

I just don't get why people feel little bigger on Internet forums and start barking with krazy insults. Look, you're an admin, you know my IP and can track me down, or if that would be to much work I'll tell you myself where I'm at and come down in here. As childish and immature this sounds, this is what really needs to be done to some people who need to be straighten up.
