the whole idea behind a credit card is having access to unpaid credit. it's like a loan, you borrow the money and pay any interest afterwards. credit cards don't require pre-payments.
ok maybe you missed what i was asking or have never heard of prepaid CC
these are cards that have visa logos/mastercard logos or whatever on them and you load money/hard physical cash on them and are able to use them wherever credit cards are accepted. basically like having a debit card but you dont have to go thru a bank to get them
If you have bad credit and are looking to build your credit then its worth it. You put the money on the card and then you buy things and pay it off.
But if you aren't using it for building your credit, its stupid. It serves the same purpose as a debit card issued from the bank. Except with the pre-paid credit cards, you have to actually PAY for the card itself AND the monthly fees and etc.
So your actually losing money while paying for a service you can have free via debit card from the bank.
FYI---the monthly fees suck balls & having to pay for the actual card itself.
^all i did was bank with a well known bank, open a savings, and put a few extra hundred in there. After 6 months, i applied for a credit card and they gave me one.
