If you saw Duff's performances in the 2002 World Cup you would have seen what a good player he was back then.He was famous worldwide back then because a lot of big European clubs wanted him.He hasn't played well last season or this season but he was excellent in his first season at Chelsea.He done better than the likes of Wright-Philips or even Ballack.It was unfair to sell him because of a few bad games towards the end of last season bearing in mind that he was injured for a while last season.

btw,Chelsea did pay 17 million for him.

Duff did have an Impressive 2002 World Cup campaign. He was being touted to a move to Manchester United before Chelsea got him.

I knew bringing in these two already established big name players into Chelsea team would create problems.It happens a lot in different sports.Chelsea had won previous two or three EPL with ''ordinary'' players so to speak.They didn't have big name players until they made them or brought (Ballack and Shevchenko).Crespo,Duff,Ghudjonson all these players were no name players that they won EPL with and than everybody knew them.Why mess with success?
