theres always a few out there. come to work alongside you and your fellow co-workers coughing up a lung or real weak and tired and come to find out they have the flu. the dumb asses dont care for other peoples feelings knowing that they'll effect others. there are some good people that do the right thing and stay home til they feel better. then you got your not so bright people.. they tell you *i cant miss work, i need the money*. i understand you gotta make the money to pay the bills. but damm your health is more important.

i go into work today i got a guy working next to me. he's all quiet not saying anything. hes usually the type to be funny and cracking jokes and get everybody motivated, an hour goes by an i ask him..whats up with you?? your very quiet today. he tells me..im coming down with the flu.

he told me that i said to myself. aww man thats all i need to be sick. so all day today i try not to touch what he touched i kept washing my hands. but after a 8 hour day i MAY have accidentally touched the buttons on the machine he operated.

cross my fingers im hoping i dont come down with anything. :(

your thoughts. and experiences with people you work with that are sick.

Those people are fucking selfish. I don't want nobody's fucking sicknesses. I beat a motherfucker down for making me catch a damn cold.

I'm an evil bastard when I'm sick.

I'm a bit ocd now in public places. I won't touch the rails on the tube in London if I can avoid it. I don't even like shaking people's hands too much.....you never know where their hands have been.

Stop whining. Dose up on tylenol and you'll be fine. You're not going to catch AIDS.

and no more love letters in my inbox, please.

i see your point when it comes to that, i guess it would piss me off to get the flu from someone i worked with who didn't take a day off, but there are some people who really can't afford to miss work. i'm in a good situation right now when it comes to work, where i can afford to take time off if i need it, but i have had plenty of jobs where i wouldn't have been able to afford even one day off, and had to go in sick. so i can understand why some people do it. it's not about being selfish as casey said, or at least in most cases its not. it's just about not being able to afford the time off.

I've been coughing at work for the past 2 weeks...

...I'm not contagious...

I don't care to work with sick ppl...I wash my hands and I'm not making out with my co-workers...yet.

I totally disagree with you, firstly people who take time of sick for things like a cold or a mild flu are time wasters, having a cough or a sneeze does not stop you from working, and you employer thinks this as well. Not only are you loosing money by taking time of, they are as well, and they hate that and its shit like that that gets you fired. If you are genuinely ill then far enough don't go to work, but don't use something so minor just so you can be a lazy fuck. Secondly, you cant catch shit from someone just because they cough and sneeze, germs don't have fucking wings. You can only catch airborne if they are dirty slobs that don't cover their mouth/nose or if you come into physical contact with them and don't wash your hands, and if you don't wash your hands, you sir are the dirty fucker.

lols. that's the first time i heard that. i'm used to everybody calling in sick all the time cause they're lazy, but not that they insist on working when they're really sick.

I got mumps when i was 20. More than likely i caught it from some ignorant bastard coughing into my face.If i found out who it was i would kill them.

Do you have Bacteriophobia or something?

Calm down, it's just a little flu. You don't get sick by just touching the keyboard he used or whatever. You have an immune system, right? Then, you have nothing worry about unless you're smooshing with him, or he sneezed right in your face.

It's not like the dude wants to be sick, I'm pretty sure he'd rather stay at home, but people have priorities and reasons why they still go to work.

Nothing to get antsy over, imo.

Ur mum didn't get your shots? Here you can't even go to kindergarten if you don't have vaccinations for MMR.

He's Irish, they get the RMM vaccination.

But keco is right, why didn't you get vaccinated at school? Also mumps is contracted via transfer of saliva, so if someone was that close to your face, you must have know who they were.

hmmm, now that i think of it, i bet half the people who come into work sick have to come in cuz they probably used up all their sick days when they weren't really sick lol. i know i've done that once or twice before anyway :)

If people are sick and contagious and come in even though they have sick leave available I think are selfish. If someone is sick and contagious but don't have sick leave available and their boss is putting pressure on them to come to work, that is your employers fault partially for insisting sick people work around you.

Usually what I do when I'm sick, I go to work, make my supervisor see how sick I am. Usually they come see me and tell me the rest of the day off. That they know I'm really sick and they know I'm not some lazy employee.

first off im no hypdchondriac, but you just dont know whats floating out there. i must be workin with dirty people, you get that in a factory. a few years ago we had a christmas potluck and i did come down with the flu the day after. everybody brought in a dish and 25 different people in the department goin after the food. i got the flu from eating the swedish meatballs somebody coughing or sneezing then the germs laying on the spoon another person handling it. and eventually i got it

i understand all that. a lot of fortunate people who cant miss work. many days i came in to work with bad migranes but i needed the money i couldnt miss. my fellow co-worker has a not so good attendance record right now hes close on being fired and he does want to clean up his record.

i am not a dirty person. there are a lot of dirty hygenic people in other departments at my place, i am not a lazy fuck i am good at what i do. and yeah there are your lazy asses that abuse the sick days. bosses do need to fire them for the abuse of time off.
