I don't think he'll be back posting.
Considering the guys M.O of attack was making fun of people's appearance and photoshopping their pics, and then his own pictures finally appeared on the net... and he's not exactly... "easy on the eye".... I think you're right.

Making fun of people is something everyone does at some point. Don't tell me verbally owning someone by playing on their weaknesses isn't satisfying :) He some times maybe took it further than the average person, but he also had a "skill" for hitting people's nerve. So, whenever someone think too badly of him I'm thinking it's either over some 2Pac trading shit or because he really hit a nerve, and I don't really buy that it's real. I'm sure there are exceptions, but then again, there's people that don't like me either.

I never saw his picture, but I never desired to do so either. I do remember his father dying, his fathers memorial website intended for family being spammed, and I even remember people who felt excused by the fact that they hated Dante so much / he was so evil. Sad stuff for the remainder of the family, a result of the evil nature of humans which is what people held against him anyway :p

I knew him, he helped me out a few times, he was cool to me cause I didn't try to talk to him about 2Pac rares all the time. I miss him.

You know what Preach, in this lifetime, you reap what you sow. That guy spewed so much negativity into the world, bullied and shat on so many people (frequently for no reason), and he made thousands of dollars illegally re-selling the work of a dead man. And yes, this had a DIRECT impact on what the Estate decided to release and not release. I happen to know that for a fact.

As I understand it, he also fucked people over on some trading/selling deals. That's obviously wrong especially when what you're doing is illegal in the first place. I oppose that, but I don't have personal experience. I bought a CD single from him once and that was the only time he ever received any money from me. As for "hitting a nerve", I don't consider what bullies do to be "hitting a nerve" at all. The guy liked to play the e-psychologist but now it's pretty clear that all of that most likely just stemmed from his own insecurity... for the reason Flipmo said. You shouldn't hide behind a fake name and insult the appearance of others, and if you do, expect the same reaction. He never posted his picture for all those years (over a decade)... pretty obvious why. So he could dish it out, but wouldn't have to take it. That's pussy. Furthermore the guy never took a single shot at me, until after I made the BBC documentary and a forum member here posted something along the lines of "Militant is the new Dante", on the basis of how I was "in there" with all the associates, the Estate, Johnny, QD, Gobi, after making the doc. That reeks of jealousy, and again, that's pussy shit.

As for the online memorial thing, I don't condone what those guys did. I read it was Jossy? The funny thing about that is that Dante accused me on numerous occasions of being some sort of co-conspirator with this Jossy person and I've never had a single conversation with him, I know nothing about him other than that Dante was always cussing him out for one reason or another. I guess when you live your life shitting on people, you get paranoid. But while I don't condone what they did, again, you reap what you sow. Don't expect all that hate you spew not to come back and slap you in the face. That's life, and frankly he probably deserved a lot worse than having grieving, angry family members wondering why people are desecrating a man's memorial with comments about "2Pac Rarez" or whatever the fuck.

If your best friend fucks me over, you're not gonna care too much, and he will still be your friend, right? I'm just saying, Dante was cool to me, and overthinking is my ilk so obviously I weighed things I would hear about him against my own perception.

My take on his shady deals, and I bet this is gonna make a few older members post about their story with Dante, which I totally don't care about anyway, but my take on it for those who choose to care is that it's 80% people who tried to fool rares out of him or tried to fuck him over with buying groups etc., and 20% people who were unfortunately affected by the fact that the "2Pac scene" was such a shady place, the paranoia was high. I can only think of one or two people who accused Dante of scamming them, that I hadn't first hand experienced to be dicks themselves.

There's a reason for everything and his demeanour changed over time. To be fair, the 2Pac scene started fucking with him, so you may consider the way he turned out a response to the treatment he received by the scene he tried to help without catching legal troubles. He had a long history with the scene before he ever set foot on this site, before any of you ever knew him unless you went to MFT and 2pacshakur.org (which some of you may have). As for making thousands of dollars, you can say you know the estate held back music because it was leaked, and you can assume Dante was the sole reason it leaked, but that's a simplification of a larger scheme where several people were involved. You neglect to include those others who contributed to the leaks, and as such you can't attribute the estate's choices to Dante's actions the way you are doing and be 100% factually correct, which makes it a silly thing to say altogether. That's _my_ opinion in contrast to yours, which I fully understand btw., considering your relationship with Dante lol.

I'm good with people, so I assume whoever had a bad run-in with him either did something "wrong", refusing to be real when they talk about what happened on forums. He gave me life advice that helped me out in a major way, he relieved a debt I owed him for no particular reason, and nothing anyone say fits with my experience, so I dunno. Everyone got a shady side. Maybe his was easier to spot because his every move and private interaction with another Tupac scene member became public against his will.

Tbh. he was okay for years, never part-taking in any discussions outside 2Pac sections of forums. His "e-bullying" came after several years in the scene. He wasn't always that way.

Don't expect all that hate you spew not to come back and slap you in the face. That's life, and frankly he probably deserved a lot worse than having grieving, angry family members wondering why people are desecrating a man's memorial with comments about "2Pac Rarez" or whatever the fuck.
Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, only the God almighty or the universe itself could impose that judgment unto him, not you or me or anyone else though. The main point I was making was that whatever Dante deserved got lost in the mix when his family had to "pay the price" or whatever. What you are saying, indirectly, is that we should bomb Tripoli because Gaddafi is hiding there and not give two shits about the rest of the population. No it's not, but now maybe you see my point also :p

Enough about Dante lol :) Some people agree with me, most agree with you, but I'm just being real about my own experience.

edit: Oh right, it's a Dante thread. Enough about Dante from me :)

Amaru and their poor business acumen is a whole different thread. Something we have talked to death. And something they will never get. Bottom line. Most of the unreleased tracks wouldn't shift albums.
