Obama Health Care Bill

Americans know too.

This health-care plan is a step in the right direction, but in it's current state, not sufficient nor sustainable in the long-term. But the beauty of it is that the Democrats know this and see it as a calculated move. Right now, there is not enough will for universal coverage. Once Americans grow tired with private insurance and shit gets hectic in the next decade or more, government-sponsored health-care will look like heaven. Republicans lose out - both times.

It's just that some Americans are realists and realize that that heaven Sophie's talking about will come with a 5 hour wait plus 3 minute examination done by a mediocre doc. No second opinion or nuthin and somebody is definitely losing.

free doesnt necessarily mean better and its not really free when you pay a shitload of taxes
You don't even pay taxes in the States compared to other countries so shut the hell up...

And Free does not necessarily mean better, but it, AT LEAST, means more accessible...

My cousin who lives in Tennessee told me that she went for a visit to the doctor because she had pneumonia, it cost her a total of 3000$ and she had a health care plan with her job...

Do you know how much it would cost me to get off pneumonia? 0$. US at that.

Maybe I'll have to wait 3 hours in line instead of 1 and a half, but at least I can still buy food afterward.

Some of you Americans act as if its a whole pile of shit to work for others... And you call yourself the most patriotic people on earth, while you don't want to move your little finger for your neighbor.

For fuck's sake, grow the fuck up.

If you were joking, I don't give a fuck, I hate talking to Americans when it comes to health care or whatever kind of care.

I still can't believe some Americans called it Commie-like.

Communism is cool anyway, I don't see the big deal.

The only purpose in life for Canadians are

A) Provide America with Hollywood stars
B) Provide America with NHL All-Stars
C) Provide blond women that marry the hockey players
D) Provide America with marijuana seeds
E) All of the above

The rest doesn't matter
Not that I dislike getting laughed at, as I laugh at myself/my nation all the time, but Canadian jokes are pretty much outdated by 10 years...

you can talk about taxes all you want but the people here aint making any money.

i didnt say the healthcare we had/have is perfect. the systems been whoring people outta money for years.

my second cousin up in montreal died cause the world class doctors told him he was fine. he kept complaining of pains in his chest, they knew he had high bloodpressure but they told he'd be fine soon. 2 months later he dies from a massive heart attack and hes a skinny person like me. also in your favorite country, america, my dad had the same thing, the doctors actually put in some work and found he had four clogged arteries they aint do shit for my cousin.

thanks for carring thou

I'd wait 5 hours, if it meant I wasn't going to be $3000 in debt. The system here (for the Emergency dept) is based on who has the most life threatening situation so if you were in a serious condition you would be seen immediately. And I have never been 3 minutes in a doctors, I went recently and can say it was maybe 30 minutes and mulitple tests requested. You guys act like we have the shittest doctors around.. lol.. anyway, I just hope for the sake of Americans who can't afford basic health care that the selfish don't fuck this up.

Things like that happen in every country. Incompetence is world wide, not specific to one country.

While you're at that...

My godfather's friend, who lives in Salt Lake City, has been told that the aches he was having in his lower stomach was due to the fact that his friends were not good enough.

So he changed friends and died from prostate cancer.

In every country with universal health care you can choose the doctor you go to you know that right? If I didn't like my doctors opinion, I could easily go down the street to another doctor and have him/her examine me. The government does not choose who we go to, the only thing the government does is pay the doctors their wages.
