New producers: do they get to hear the originals?

i wonder if eminem, dj quik etc and all the other producers on the last pac albums ever got the chance to hear the ogs before they started producing the new versions or if they only have the acapellas available.

I remember em said in interview that they only get acapellas from amaru.
And that explains alot. ive stopped blaming producers for fucking it up.

blame is on Amaru and the Outlawz.... I feel frustrated that they act blind to the whole community.

aha. very interesting.

i think the main reason why they fuck up the ogs is because they dont get the samples cleared. so they have to produce new shitty beats. but i dont know why they replace the rappers! but i guess its all about politics and making money!

Too bad they're not making bank, since they try to save a penny by hiring a shitty ass producer like Eminem, then the album doesn't sell the way a Pac album is expected to.

No, I agree... FUCK today's youth. For one thing, it was YESTERDAY'S youth who listened to Pac, and we compose most of the fanbase, even now. Think about it, it was US who made All Eyez on Me go 9X Platinum and Makaveli go 4X Platinum... and it's probably more today, so we are the consumers who should be catered to, not some snot-nosed little punk-ass who probably wouldn't buy the shit anyway. Today's youth just downloads music off Kazaa or whatever they use now, so it's not like Amaru should try to get them to want it.

yea but they forgot about old fans, who won`t be satisfied with their idol new music sounding just like any other artist these days, let`s face it, the way they put Pac albums out, it`s nothing different than any other artists :(

But how are they supposed to clear samples when it obviously just looks like they send acapella's out to diffrent people??

To be honest i dont even think they work hard to get them cleared.
whats the problem in getting cleared Fuck Friendz as an examble??? that sample has been used in lots of songs, even 2pac ones.

It wouldnt surprice me if "Play your cards right" would be remixed to death because they "couldnt get the clearence" if that track comes out, and that excuse is used, that would really be fucked, since ALOT of musicians already sampled it. Dont let them ruin my favourite track :(

If the new producers heard the beats, they'd realize that whatever they'd try to do wouldn't measure up. They should only remaster, or make something close to, what the beat was on the OG.

Your a fucking idiot man. You know how many young kids listen to Pac? Don't play that shit. Actin like you fucking special or something. They should make the music how YOU want it. Fuck that shit. Rap is changing, its evolving, for the better or worst, whos to say? But Pac would have evolved with it, if he was still around, i'm sure, everyone is. Don't get it twisted man.

personally i would have never been such a huge pac fan if it wasn't for the better dayz album. I had heard other songs like cali love, life goes on, changes, hitem up etc, but i never went deep into it until buying better dayz. after that album i became hooked and starting going back in the discography.

right now i like most of the og beats better than the remixes but at that time i probably wouldn't have liked the ogs that much.

i still think better dayz was a great put together album. ex: i like the remix to my block better than the og. with when we ride on our enemies, the og is fine but the remix beat makes pac sound more vigilant.

LTTG is the only album I could do without.

Hey asshole, for one thing, you need to chill out. That's my opinion, you don't have to agree with it, but don't act like you're Mr. Know-It-All, thinking you're right about everything. And two, yes, motherfucker, I am special, in the same way that a lot of the dedicated fans are on this board. It's not just me, A LOT of us are the ones who have been buying EVERY Pac CD, DVD, and whatever else since day one, like I said before. I NEVER said that the kids today didn't listen to Pac, I just said that they aren't the ones who are BUYING it and making it go platinum and beyond. Do you think a lot of kids nowadays have the real albums? Maybe a few do, but I bet most of them either have CD-Rs of the albums or they've put them all on their iPods.

I know that rap is changing, and it evolves through time, just like anything else. But you have to admit that the direction that Amaru tends to take with Pac's music sometimes takes a wrong turn. Yeah, they put Eminem on a few songs and had him produce. Eminem is a multi-platinum rapper, and all the kids love him, and that's great. But what did he do? He created what is arguably the worst fucking Pac album to date, and most Pac fans who were Pac fans at least since Pac was still breathing will tell you the same. There have been some good remixed beats that are more modern--First 2 Bomb (a bootlegged Daz beat, but whatever), Thugz Mansion, Street Fame, I don't have to name them off--and it's all good. But if they're going to be modern and all, they need to hire the right producers. And if they're not going to do that, then leave the songs alone, so the Pac fans who shell out the $12 (instead of the 12 minutes it takes to download it) for it can be happy.

"I don't gotta do shit. I'll just give you 12 tracks of that real shit, you gimme my $12, and we even." - Pac

I think if the new producers atleast had the chance to hear what the og's sounded like, it would give them a better perspective.
