As much as I see Prince as one of the, if not greatest artist of all time due to this talent alone.. I am not a fan of the majority of his music.
lol.

You're a Tupac fan yeah? We all are, right?

Newsflash, if you like any of the follow songs:

What'z Ya Phone Number
Pac's Life (Original)
Thugs Get Lonely Too (Original)
Is It Cool 2 Fuck
Wussup With The Luv (Digital Underground & Pac)
2 Live & Die In LA
The Good Die Young
Heartz Of Men

Then you dig Prince. All of those are based on his music.

I'm a Smiths/Morrissey obsessive. I like the Beatles. I'm a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac and the Stone Roses and The Who and lots of stuff like that. Britpop in general makes me happy. I think Pavement is a better band than either Nirvana or Radiohead. But I like all three just fine. I was never big on MC Hammer.

I always liked his tunes and their vibe, but not his singing voice and style. I would be a fan of his instrumentals, which is why I really like the beats that sample his songs. I have similar sentiments regarding lots of funk music too. I think they contributed a lot to hip-hop and I really enjoy that style there, but not so much the originals.

That’s pretty far fetched. They’re samples and he might light them for other reasons than the sample used. They’re not covers and don’t “feature” Prince as a producer, writer or singer.

People are allowed their own opinions Casey, stop being the Prince Nazi.

stop being the Prince Nazi.
Yeah, stop committing unscrupulous acts of barbarism in the name of that symbol known as, you Prince Nationalsozialist. You alt-right music, Prince neo-Nazi.

Ruk, you used the N word. Have you heard of Godwin's law? It's the internet maxim which states that the first person to mention the Nazis loses the argument. We know you're not equating him to a Nazi but making a comparison. Still, it's lazy rhetorical analogy. Nazi is not a synonym for the attitude that "I'm right about this subject, everyone else is wrong." People will use Nazi or Hitler for anything because they think it'll have a big impact. But it waters down the term and should be reserved for real Nazis. Because next time someone calls those alt-right nutjobs in the US who wear swastikas, "Nazis," Sigh might think, you mean like Casey Rain on Prince, that's not too bad.

You're guilty of cultural appropriation of the Holocaust, you Streethop Nazi. By the way, Streethop Nazi is also my favorite fighting game franchise. Now I'm off to get some dinner from the Soup Nazi in my neighborhood. (Seinfeld reference)

I know about Prince's influence on Hip Hop. Doesn't make me want to listen to a Prince album though. I only like three of those songs too. :D Plus I said the majority of his music.. Maybe should have stated that just Prince on his own, I don't particularly dig. Trust me, my sister was a huge fan and tried her best to get me into his music and it just didn't do much for me.

I know you're a huge Prince fan, but doesn't mean everyone has to be.

I mean, some of modern medicine was "based on" research and the works of Nazi doctors and scientists so. I guess liking modern medicine inspired by them means I like eugenics.

Eugenics ain't all that bad. If we can CRSPR the Tard gene out of humankind, it'd be nice.

Prince played every instrument and produced all of his own stuff, so my point is that if you like an instrumental or a sample, you still like Prince because he composed and played and performed every melody.

It's not like most bands or artists where there are multiple musicians involved plus a separate producer. Everything you hear is him, so if you dig a melody, or a riff, or an interpolation, that's from his mind, hence you dig Prince.
