MATW LP Review

I came across this article today. The person that writes the review was around 3 years old when Tupac was killed. It is a biased review as he's clearly a fan making it a nice review to read.

Like any other album, Me Against the World does contain several "filler" songs, however, that does not in any way take away from the overall feeling of the album which contains many unforgettable tracks.
Nice to see Tupac's influence still reaches out to a new generation of listeners.

I love that he appreciates the album, but I have to disagree about the "several" filler songs. The only one I don't really care for is"Temptations", but to each his own.

I never liked 'Temptations' much but, eventually I found myself singing to the chorus and that annoying hey heh-ee--eey.

I barely listen to 'f!@#k the world' these days. The track just sounds too dated to me. However, I loved it when I heard it the first time back in high school. Other tracks I didn't favor on the LP

- dear mama (totally loving the remixes of this)
- heavy in the game
- death around the corner
- outlaw

that one and "if i die tonight"

the dear mama original is way superior to what was released. it was a whole different style of song. it also sounds old, like 1992-1993.

pretty keen on "outlaw" as well, but "heavy in the game", "fuck the world" and "temptations" are tracks i skip. one of the remixes of temptations, i really like. and while i used to like "can u get away", i don't any more. it bores me now. the rest are all good to me.

Fuck The World is also one of my faves. Did someone call it a filler track? That's crazy talk.

These two lines always stuck out to me "When I was comin' up rough that wasn't even what you called it, that's why I smoke blunts now and run with alcoholics"

I definitely need to post that Shock G album. We discussed Shock's roles on all Tupac's albums in depth. This album Shock was most involved with.

I'm surprised people don't like Temptations, its in my top 10 songs of all time

The beat, the chorus, the flow and rhyme scheme are all Tupac at his best. Imho..
