makaveli.com shuts down?... again?

#1
Eight years ago when I first created this website, I never knew how far it would go and how much it would evolve. It started off as simply one fan's way of showing his appreciation for the late Tupac Shakur, and quickly grew into a huge worldwide dedication website. Like a blaze through the dry lands, it devoured other sites and put it's place on some of the top search engines in a matter of weeks.

However, even the greatest fires die. The issues we've been having with the errors people are receiving are coming from CPU load times on the site. With millions of hits and almost 18k registered members, the hosting provider simply cannot produce enough CPU power to continue to host our site without users experiencing random yet persistent errors. (500 Internal Server Errors). The only solution of course is switching to a fully dedicated, fully updated server which to me means more cash. Like all things, cash rules the world, and running a website like this costs LOTS of cash. Cash that as a hobby, I am no longer willing to front.

I am going to take a couple days and think this one out, but it would take an act of God to really prevent my decision, which will ultimately be to shut down Makaveli.com for good and to put up a simple page of news as it comes in, with no more user action or forums. You will know which path I take in a few days. It's been a pleasure keeping the fans informed and coming out with the goods for you all, but I cannot continue to run a website on a crippled server, and I can no longer continue to pay out huge amounts of money on something that gives no return. Through the years, I'm sure Makaveli.com has made the Estate a ton of cash through our promotions and exclusive news, including our free contests and yearly Candle Light Vigils, however this is like paying the piper every month and it's something I no longer want to commit to.
God bless and be safe!

I was reading this thinking to myself "Ive never even heard of this site". But then I went there real quick and thought "oh yeah I've been here like once". No offence, but it wont effect me.

But I remember when makaveli4life.com (or was it makaveli4ever?) went down back in 2001, I was upset. That was my #1 source for 2Pac and I loved the design and content of that site. So when that site went down, I became the legend I am here at Hit Em Up.
