Can everyone rate those tracks from 1-5 .... I know its been done quite few times and dont mean to bring the pain again with this album, i just want to find out how many tracks people did really like
I read your post and to be completely fair, I did not read ANY of the other critiques in here and I just finished listening to the entire CD without hitting "fast forward". It was actually the first time I've listened to it in about three weeks, here's my "fresh" review:
Soldier Like Me: 4/5
I like this song a lot. I bought the album the day it came out and soon as it started playing I thought it was fire and I still feel the same way. A lot of people don't like Em on the hook. While I don't have a problem with that, and while I don't mind Em's "singing", I don't like the hook because of the poor lyrics it contains.
The Uppercut: 4.75
When this was posted by Jon at the hitemup.com front page as a sampler to promote the album, I listened to this song and thought it was straight fucking fire. Some shit that might have made S4MN. I think the beat is fucking sick, and the only reason I don't give it 5/5 is the Outlawz drag it down a tad. Thought giving credit where it's due, Noble actually didn't perform half bad.
Out On Bail: 5/5
I'll get roasted for giving this 5/5, because I've seen A LOT of people on here saying how the beat is "horrible". I don't get that because when I heard this song, the first thing I thought was "this is a tight ass fucking beat". This song to me is something that could have been on AEOM, especially with Pac's tone of voice and his attitude....totally would have fit on AEOM. The lyrics are average, but his passion, the beat, and overall vibe of the record overshadows the sub-par lyrics for me.
Ghetto Gospel: 3.5/5
Sorry folks, but for the most part I like this song. I like the beat. I think Eminem did a great job on the beat, he gave it a great feel in my opinion. Some also didn't like Elton being on the hook but I love that as well and I'm sure Pac would be proud and happy as fuck that someone like Elton John respects Pac enough to approve his vocals for this song. Not only that, but Pac had some very unique and fresh tastes in music for the "type of person" he was thought as. He was known to enjoy Madonna, Jim Morrison, The Beatles, The Cranberries, Kate Bush...and by God, he said his favorite piece of music ever is the theme song to Les Miserables, so thinking he was a fan of and would love to have Elton on a song is completely understandable. What kills this song for me is Pac's vocals...uhhhh...gruesome.
Black Cotton: 2.5/5
Like Pac's verse, like The Outlawz verses. HOWEVER, I do agree with the people that said Eminem should not be on a song that's about black power basically. Also, I don't like the beat on this song. Second worst beat on the album.
Loyal To The Game: 3.5/5
The beat is...ok...average to me..MAYBE a little less than average. I like Pac's verse and I thought Buck and Banks came pretty damn good. As long as the verse doesn't ruin the song or the rapper doesn't fuck the quality of the song up or rap about some shit that has nothing to do with the overall message, I don't mind Banks and Buck being on the record. At this point 2pac's worse enemies have already been featured on w/ him on his own albums. As long as it ain't Puffy or Mase or some shit, as long as it adds to the song...I'm fine with it.
Thugs Get Lonely Too: 2.5
Uhh...terrible. I don't like this song at all. The beat is the only bareable part. Vocals are just terrible. Isn't this one of the songs Em slowed the vocals on? Uhh...*sighs* C'mon Marshall...
N.I.G.G.A.: 4/5
First 10 listens or so I hated this song. Now for some reason I'm digging it. I also actually kinda dig Jada's verse. Not too bad and I like his flow as well. The beat is very simple, but at the same time It's also hella sick. Weird shit.
Who do You Love?: 3/5
Eh...average song for this album. Not really much to say about this.
A Crooked Nigga Too: 1/5
Terrible. Beat is the only good part to me.
Hennessy: 3.5
Sorry folks...I'll catch heat for saying this but I don't care. I like Obie on this. The beat isn't bad but it's a LITTLE too cartoonish for Pac's shit. It's a good beat for some pop shit like Real Slim Shady or something but it's just too pop. Remix it, make it a litte more street and it's cool though.
Thug 4 Life: 1/5
Lyrics save this song. Other than that...HORRIBLE. Lose It is an example of Eminem at his absolute best. This song is a prime example of Em at his worst.
Po Nigga Blues: 4.5/5
Pretty good. Like the beat, lyrics are nice. I'm getting tired of typing though... lol, so I'll leave it at that. Definite replay material.
Hennessy Remix: 3/5
Only slightly better than Em's version I think. Only reason being the beat is better. HOWEVER, at the same time, whoever said upon this albums release that this version of Hennessy "sounds like a McDonalds commercial", I agree, and that's why I gave it 3 instead of 4.
A Crooked Nigga Too: 3/5
I'm just not too fond of the song as a whole. Beat is nice though.
Loyal To the Game: 5/5
Straight fire...no doubt
