I saw a book about hip hop over the years etc while i was out the other day and flicked thru it to find what they had on Pac, took a pic of it with my phone and typed it up:

As with Tupac, listening to any of Biggies music convinces you that the bullets that killed them both are the only things ensuring their immortality right now, 'cos the joints they threw down while they were still breathing sure as fuck don't ensure that. And the distraction sideshow that the EC/WC beefs threw up (now replaced by the equally dull bitchng going on between Nas and Jay-Z and Ja Rule and Eminem and blahblahblah) surely can't keep us believers in the fiction of the mournful sycophancy any more together in life, in death, in future irrelevance.

What you ppl think?

i don't agree with the part about them only being immortalized b/c they're dead. if they were not killed, and had not made any noteworthy music since, they still had classics to fall back on like MATW, AEOM, Ready to Die, & Life After Death (which would've been released as is anyway). so even if they would've "fallen off" they'd still be icons.

I think that dudes opinion is harsh , I read about a guy writing into the Source magazine once saying the same thing and do not agree , I would be interested to see who he feels should be immortalised , I presume he is comparing both Biggies and Pacs music to Artists that have " blown up " since to come to this conclusion as the names he mentioned were never on thier level when they were alive , if this is the case it would be an unfair comparison as both Pacs and Biggies recordings are at least ten years old while artists recording since have a chance to record " legendary " music while they are both judged on past work . I agree with Frodawgg when he says both are Icons which if Jay z , Emm or whoever imo wouldnt be if they died tommorow .
