I find a lot of stuff funny. The fact is that American humor is dumber and some things are barely funny to me but I sometimes like stupid american jokes.
Also there are various editions of European humor. For example people in my country make totally different jokes than people in England. Some things my friends find funny you guys would find as repulsive and vice versa.
Everybody knows that Germans have no sense of humor. I got used to all kind of jokes and a lot of stuff makes me laugh. I'm also aware that you will not always enjoy my jokes. Some people might think I'm an idiot while saying something that I find funny and am convinced that a lot of people would laugh, but same jokes work differently for different people.
Also when I came here and some people mentioned a few people who were said to be "funniest in here" i considered them to be idiots and they never made me giggle. After a lot of time I got used to their humor and they entertain me. Of course to me it never will be as funny as my own humor but I'm aware that universal standards differ a bit from mine.

Because RGF has more members, they also have more intelligent posters. Sure, most the board is people talking about drugs and saying "fuck tha police" in every thread where someone talks about getting arrested, but it's really no different than it is here. There are still intelligent posters on that board and it's easy to avoid the dumb ones by switching sections, but here, no one goes anywhere else but Our Block, or atleast the bulk of the posts are made here, and it gets filled with random shit like "I'm drunk" "I love tits" "I love men, am I gay?" " This is so cool" (when really, it isn't) "I am drunk...again" "I am now high" "I am high again" "I love getting high."
You compare it to RGF, and I just have as well, and the funny thing is, they still have more members.

They have more active members because they specialize in media piracy. When you have so many people sharing media and so many people downloading, you're bound to have people willing to spring off to other sections of the board and post.
That's as far as I'm willing to go. You, on the other hand, try to speculate as to why this board isn't as active and why people have left by saying that in a nutshell, those who haven't left this board are those who are stagnating in their "progress in life." As if every member who stopped posting is living the american dream.
I disagree. Almost everybody here holds a steady job or goes to school.
I, on the other hand, would rather blame the expansion of social networking and blogs for the decline, and the loss of focus on this board when it went from a "Tupac super center" to a generic hip-hop forum.

You can only talk so much about Tupac. His popularity waned off with the time after his death so it's hard to say whether people moved on, forgot, or just didn't care.

lol why...do you have to have a forum to post on? I don't know why I post here, I guess it's a habit and I've gotten to "know" people here throughout the years. It's the only forum I post on besides leaving comments on IMDB boards from time to time. If this board died, I wouldn't try and re-create the forum and invite the people back, I'd just stay in contact with some members. That's what it's all about.

I'm too lazy to quote everyone but basically what SOFI said. Dilla, the majority of people who have left this board are the people who literally spent hours of every day posting shit here. Like Kami and Diaz, those guys had like 7000 posts within a year. The same people who would get drunk and high by themselves and then chill on the board. I really don't think those are the people who go on to be succesful in life
One of the main reasons that this place isn't as active as it used to be is because most of the people who post here DON'T spend hours at a time on the board. They check here 1,2,3 times a day for 20-30min at a time and then leave because they actually do a have life to maintain.

When i was in a full time job all last year, i didnt post here as much. I just hadnt time. Now that im back in college again, i find myself with a lot of free time so i post here more.
Some of the reasons why streethop isnt as active as before are:
1. A lot of members were banned. There was a period when Rukas, Sicc etc got rid of a load of idiots and trouble makers. A lot of members were banned. That was a good thing. I d rather have 20 active members who post well as opposed to 100 idiots who post rubbish all the time.
2. There is only so much you can talk about in relation to 2Pac. Everything has been discussed to death. Its been a while since that last 2Pac album was relased and lets face it, it was rubbish and so was LTTG. People have lost interest and because the albums were so poor, people didnt listen to them as much and therefore didnt discuss them as much as earlier posthumous releases like Until THe End Of TIme or Better Dayz.
3. There isnt a whole lot to discuss about in rap/hip hop these days either. A lot of it is poor and again, people have lost interest.

What Bobby said + Streethop is a hip-hop forum but more of a family or a group thing. Everybody knows everybody else or at least is well aware of his existence.
We're not a typical message board where new people come and ask questions and stuff because we "pwn them noobs" literally. Also noobs have other, more popular forums with idiots where they type and then when they gain some knowledge then end up staying there and bitching about noobs posting there. Here we don't have any of those problems. There are various of hip-hop tastes here, everybody already knows shitloads of info about their music and barely feels a need to discuss it. At least I think that I grew out of that part. Whenever I make a new thread in "the streets" section it's just to create some traffic or out of curiosity. I come to streethop to laugh, to see some interesting "news" and contribute to "the online group" I feel well with. It'd be sad if more valuable members continued to gradually leave SH but right now I think it's okay.
We could lure some females here but then again:
1. it's more of a male-type of board with threads and all that shit that women would find repulsive/stupid/not interesting.
2. after all it's hard to picture an internet board full of women unless it's some kind of fitness/arts forum.
Conclusion: We should change our image, do a pink layout and add some sports/arty bullshit on our homepage.
