I like to surf youtube, watch stuff that is actually entertaining like funnys, comedy sketches, documentary videos, music videos and so forth. I thought how much easier it would be to be able to search Youtube from the search bar in the top right corner of Firefox. I didn't have one installed for Firefox, so I thought I'd check on the Search Plugins page, none.

I thought that sucked, how could no one have made a search plugin for Youtube???

So I decided "It can't be that difficult!" and searched the net on how to make a search plugin for Firefox.

It was pretty easy, there isn't much coding at all, infact I decided it would be just as easy to copy an excisting one I had installed and modify it for Youtube.

First attempt was all most spot on. It did the search and brought back the results from Youtube, but I realised I had not changed a part of the coding that I didn't realise was necessary, so my search was "p= (search term). I fixed it quickly, and it worked perfectly in that department.

The only set back that I hadn't fixed was the little 16x16 icon next to it, I tried to replace it but it brought back no icon.

So you maybe thinking "Why is this lame?"

Well, I decided to leave the icon for now and went to change the search engine back to Google, to which I see "Install Youtube Video Search".

Bastards.
