i had quite a memorable superbowl. i go over to my friends place to drink and watch the game last night. my brother's g/f drove my brother and me over so we could drink (she was DD). So the game ends and we're getting ready to leave and my friend's younger brother (jeff) asks if he can go with us and hang out at my apartment. So I say "sure" and we drive over. I crack a beer and start watching tv and my brother and his girlfriend go downstairs (her apt is below ours) to go to sleep. Well a car pulls in and jeff runs out to see who it is. It turns out to be one of the girls who lives downstairs. Then my brother calls me all pissed off because jeff is banging on the door and making all this noise. So when jeff comes back upstairs I tell him that he can hang out here but he has to leave them alone downstairs because they're trying to sleep.
So he says, "Fine. Whatever. I'm leaving" and walks out the door. Now he lives a good twenty minutes from me so a walk home is out of the question. So I'm like whatever, he'll be back shortly. So I go to bed around 1am pretty well intoxicated. The next thing I know two police officers are banging on my door at 345am. I'm half drunk, half awake and I answer the door and they asked me if i was adam and i'm like, "yes" and they ask where my brother is so i go find him. So they tell us we have to go down to the station with them and they refuse to tell us why. So i get pulled into an interrogation room and my brother gets pulled into another. The cop asks me a ton of questions about everything that happened over the course of the night starting with when i left for the superbowl party to when i went to bed. Then the cop leaves and says an investigator will be in shortly.
I wait in there for about an hour, just fucking sitting there. Another cop comes in and I have to tell him the same story. He asks me if I've been in trouble before and I'm like "No. I usually only see you guys when I get pulled over." I ask him if he can tell me why I'm here and he says that the investigator will be in shortly to explain things. So he leaves and the investigator comes in. He's like, "Do you know why you're here?" And I tell him I have no idea. So he says, "Well your friend Jeff has had quite a night. He stole a truck and then crashed it into a ditch. He then walked two miles to a convenient store, smashed all the windows, trashed the place and we caught him trying to steal chewing tobacco and beef jerky. We had to pull our guns out on him." So I'm in complete shock but I still have no clue why I'm here. So I ask him what this has to do with me and he says, "Well, he says that you and your brother were in the stolen truck with him."
So I'm like, "What? That's not true at all." So he reads me my Miranda Rights and writes down everything that I tell him. Then he types it all up, has me read and sign it. By this time, it's almost 7am - i have hardly had any fucking sleep at all. So I ask the investigator how much trouble jeff is in and he says that he's facing felony auto theft, felony breaking and entering and a DWAI.
Needless to say, he's in a lot of shit. But the cops realized I was telling the truth when he saw that my brother's account matched mine and jeff was changing his story back and forth.
So yeah, I'm not happy. It's not 941am and I haven't gone to bed because I have to be at work for 1130am.
