for some reason auctions from the uk seem to go for sometimes as much as double their american counterparts. i'm not sure what that's all about... additionally, a few people (from this board) tend to toy with auctions and that steers prospective bidders away from bidding to win (behavior like bidding up to be the highest bidder, then retracting their bid once they know the other's highest amount, and then re-bidding to max them out without beating them). it's a shame, because i was expecting to start selling some good stuff off in the next year, but with the uk/usa disparity i'm not even going to try to jump that hoop.

Ebay let you retract your bid? That's wrong.

I usually don't bid on items until the last minute, unless I'm gonna be away, or I already have the item.

yeah the uk prices are always really high and shipping is a bitch to so i tend to only buy things from north america just to play it safe. lol uk always has some bullshit tupac autographs that are obvoiusly fake too and it pisses me off how people pay a shitload for something thats not even real lol.

Pound = 2 US dollars (almost)

Which is probably why. Although it still seems a little strange.

It's a shame some UK peeps give us a bad rep. I think I'm a pretty good collector, I've never ripped anyone off, and I'll always pay for something. I have no tricks up my sleeve, only 1 ebay account. And I also would rather pay than download.

I haven't been ripped off by anyone yet either, although I am a little worried about a recent deal, as I haven't heard back from an email. But the person seems to have good feedback so it should be OK.

whats he supposed to do, hand out cash to random people that don't have a lot of money? lol

thats like parents saying "children in africa are starving" when you don't want what you get served for dinner, like they're gonna send the food to africa if you don't eat it. moronic.
