^You need an interview even for McDonalds or KFC, which pay 7.35, minimum wage.

My question for the thread starter is, can't you find a job that pays more money? If you're underage and it's your first job, 8 bucks is pretty darn good. If you're 18 or older, look harder.

actually the national minimum wage is 5.15, depending on where you live jobs might need more help thus forced to pay more by the hour that would explain the 7.75 in california

Well, im 19 & im a student. I also live in Canada (EH?), and the minimum wage here is 18. It's very hard in the Westcoast in terms of employment (especially Vancouver). You literally need to take courses in order to clean toilets, therefor it's VERY hard to find a job here (so people take anything they can). I am a Rent-A-Cop by the way :)

Interviews are scary as hell. You can't make one mistake and every word you say is up for scrutiny.

I once went to what I thought was an interview. It turns out the guy is not offering me a job. No, he's trying to sell me a job. Basically, he asked me if I wanted to attend several courses that cost $200, and after that, I'd get the job.

Its good I didn't have a credit card at the moment, or he would have sucked me in.
