Man im here for the past 2 weeks trying to come with a dissertation topic and i just cannot come up with any thing that would be a good subject to write a dissertation on and also one that i would have an interest in. I have had a few ideas but none have worked out. My original dissertation proposal got rejected.

Fuck college. i wish i never went back.

wow, i hate those topics.

Thankfully I used RATE-MY-BITCH-ASS-PROFESSOR.

It helps.

Anyway, they say the first two years are hard b/c it's usually bullshit classes you are not interested in. So just stay in it and go through the hard times.

You're lucky you can attend school right now, I can't b/c of $ and car issues.

But at the end of the day, just finish the shit and be a true Irishman and drink lad.

;)

^^Im in 3rd year of this particular course.

you cant go to college?. what did you want to do?

I wish i was still working :(
Nah, have to put it on hold. I lost my j-o-b b/c financial crisis and would never get financial aide...California is poor, and they said my mom makes too much $, but she doesn't support me...she has foster children and other stuff to take care of...Plus, I guess I have to be married or be 24 to get financial aide without moms taxes. :sad2:

and I am not going to rush the marriage even though I am engaged. Engagement is a step, and we would like to keep it a step.

Plus my car was stolen so it's hard for me to get around when I do get a job and start going to school again. :( Though I just bought a truck for $500 yesterday. I just need to learn how to drive stick

I want to do Mechanical Engineering. I love solving problems and the variety of people involved would make my life more interesting learning about their cultures and stuff. Plus, you have to know rich people to get rich.

What the hell you still in English for on the 3rd year??

My bad, I was thinking something else.

Anyway, nah. I am not leaving anyone behind for abroad...

Hopefully someone has superior wisdom and knowledge in this topic you seek. :)2

Its because you're stupid. A lot of people have this problem so don't be mad.

College is tough. I hate it too. But I think it's worth it at the end. That is why I'm still there.
you see im not sure about that because at the moment nearly every Construction/Engineering company are letting people go in this country so when i finish college in 2010, there may be very little jobs around in construction.

People say University is necessary, they're fucking morons. I know individuals with MAs in Computer Engineering. You know the only jobs they can find? Customer Service work over the phone at 15$/Hr. Become an electrician here, 1 years worth of schooling, you start off as an apprentice at 20$/Hr and can work your way up to 50$/Hr.

You go to University if you're willing to do the school work and it is something you REALLY want. It's not something to just float around in, cause then it will be a waste of money (lot of it) and time (something you can't get back).
