well i have to admit when i'm wrong...

after i got my 2pac grill off ebay and spent most of the night fashioning an intricate system of pulleys and levers to make my watch face spin i gotta say that this song is pretty fuckin' nice to recite in front of the mirror. i found that spinning my watch like a record on the hooks is pretty snazzy.

yall remember me
yall yall yall remember me

man i am going to be so radical when i'm at the club and i know all the words and have my own dance routine before everyone else.

git it own till eye die
git it own till eye die

i wish the air horns weren't in there though. mom keeps telling me to go to my basement cause the 'nados is comin!

Abomination. That's the best word for it.

In a way, I almost respect LTTG more than this. LTTG was a disaster and insult, editing tempo, putting words into his mouth, and shitty production. Not only are they doing many of the same things here, as well as new ways to destroy his music, but they are selling out.

I blamed LTTG on incompetence. I blamed it on Eminem's fall off, his complete absence of all musical aptitude.

But if they do every song on this album like they're doing this one, then they are altering his music with the same intentions that BET had when they banned Little Brother and Black Star. They want to make dumb music for dumb people.

LTTG was a bad result of good intentions.
This album will be the bad result of bad intentions.

Even if it has greater listening value as far as production is concerned, it is a bigger insult to me as a Pac fan.

Question: Should i have heard these verses before (on Left eye's version) or are these totally new to us ?
If they are new i'm not even excited about it since it's ruined. Compare the original sound of the freestyle to this and tell me if this is what you like. I bet if they would use the OG Untouchable song with Yak, Fatal & EDI and would do a video with live footage, studio footage of them recording it (Before I Wake) and some other unreleased 2pac / Outlaw footage it would sell. This will not sell, i will bet my LIFE on that.

Am I Wrong Cuz I Dont Like This Song????
Hell no. I can see why people are not feeling this track. Personally, I like the vibe of the tune and the hook is self-explanatory. "Am i wrong cuz i wanna get it on till i die". Cuz lookin' back at his life after prison, thats exactly what he did. The only project I havnt supported by Amaru is LTTG, purely cuz it was a disaster. From the vibe to the messing with his voice/lyrics, that was the saddest moment! (sorry to refer to LTTG again and again, but i am passionate about my hate towards this album/piece of shit/garbage) - So hopefully that proves im on the same wave length as 99% of y'all.

So why dont people like this track? (In my opinion...) - We will never witness a repeat of the typical 2pac sound we are all used to from the albums he released when he was breathing. That was down to 'Pac's influence in the production. Its been famously quoted time and time again by reliable sources that 'Pac was a major player in production. He was a kind man, so he gave credit to the people behind the boards so they get paid, but if he wanted he could of claimed alot of tracks as his joint effort, but he didnt do that unless he was involved with the start of production (EG:- Staring through my rearview, Untouchable OG etc).

The problem here is that people are expecting a track as heart-felt as Life Goes On and as raw as Made Niggaz. Forget about it, that aint ever gonna happen again. Even the Still I Rise and R U Still down album, they were released in a transitional time on Hip Hop. Majority of fans love them albums because they were the last time we came close to hearing the typical 'Pac sound. We are 10 years on playaz, we gotta move forward with the times. U cant act like Elvis fans cuz they all believe they still live in the 70's, just like 'Pacs fans are stuck into the mid 90's.

Im sorry dudes but I like what they did considering what they were against here -. I will never expect a tune which has the 'Pac touch on it, you gotta be stupid to expect that!!

u may not agree, but we, pac fans, are going to stay "stuck into the mid 90's" until we get a decent material to listen to!
do u have a better idea?? or could you indicate some greate new songs??

of course i dont expect nothing as good as matw or even rusd, but at least i dont want to listen eminems-like production, jadakiss type "collabos", nor "g-unit in tha muthafuckin house" ....

U think im not a 'Pac fan too? Dude, if only u knew me. I always liked rap, but it took preference over eveything else listened to through 'Pac. So trust me dawg, im a "fan"!!!

Read my post again and look at the reference I made to LTTG, im on the same page as u on that one!

I am close to downloading it. But I will resist.

I will probably still like hearing it in a club. No matter how bad it is.

To think I talked bad on "Changes". Bring back them cheesy pop singles, all is forgiven.

I saw on a previous post that you are 30 years old. Always wondered. Glad to see someone my same age talk about the Golden Era of rap. Most people on this board that have an opinion about this time in rap music are way to young to comprehend the differences between now and then.
It is important to remember that the money involved today with rap is much different than it was 10 years ago. There is a lot of pressure and expectation today to make a rap song that will be hot in the clubs because that is who buys it. For me crunk music is ok for the clubs but 2pac music is not. You can't please everyone. But I think Amaru needs to realize that this is a very unique situation. You have someone that passed away years ago. They are not here to say how a song should be. Therefore keeping it in original form is the RIGHT thing to do, even if that means not selling as many records. If it is about preserving 2pac's legacy then preserving the original sound is paramount. I don't recall this happening to Elvis's music? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Exactly, although i think not everything should be done in OG form but they should do it just like RUSD and never take some1 off. Remixes CAN be better (even a lot) but do it right like they did in 97 and 98. It shouldn't make no difference if it's 2006 or 2020. Just like you said, you don't see a motherfucker handling Elvis or Bob Marley music this way. You see them putting out greatest hits and all that with unreleased songs etc but nothing like this. The difference is in the intention of it all, most ppl who release albums / unreleased songs of a dead person they do it to get it out there for the fans. They just get it outthere and see if it sells, Interscope / Amaru / DR and whoever else involved in all these projects only see 1 thing: $$$$$ MONEY. I can't speak specifcally on Afeni but 90% of ppl involved in 2pac projects only want profits and they don't care about the rest. I bet if Bob Marley's or Elvis's music was handled like this there would be something done right away. Picture a remix of a unreleased Elvis song with Elthon John or Justin Timberlake or some shit. It just wouldn't happen and so i stick to it that this is wrong and i will never support any projects like this. Bring out the OG boxes or a decent album with good remixes and they got my support but for some shit like this. Hell no !!!

sHUT up HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uff, finally finish reading all 14 pages, heres my opinion.

  • I LOVE THE SONG.
  • I THINK THE SECOND VERSE IS DIFFERENT THAN UNTOUCHABLE-DRUNKEN FREESTLYE.
  • KRAZY BONE´S VERSE IS AWESOME
  • THE BEAT IS 8/10
  • THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN LTTG
  • PAC VERSES ARE FIRE :fury:
  • I FEEL THE SAME WAY I FELT WHEN AMARU RELEASED THE BETTER DAYZ 10 SECOND SAMPLER...
  • THIS IS HOW YOU BRING 2PAC BACK 2 LIFE! BIATCH!
  • IM HAPPY4PAC

I agree. The other issue is that if you released the songs in OG form no one would know any different except the die hard fans. What is comes down to is that Amaru doesn't want to spend the money to pay the original produces and artists it would take to release the songs in OG form. You make an excellent point in that if a unreleased Elvis song was chopped and remixed with someone like Justin Timberlake the Presley estate would be crucified.

you think by now amaru would have listened to all the rants and raves of the fans from the previous releases and taken a different approach.
