Sampdoria still has to go through the preliminaries and they wont be seeded so it will be difficult to make it to the group stages. they build the squad up a bit as well.

Del Neri is an excellent coach. remember how he brought Chievo up to serie a and they were up near the top for most of the season and finished 5th i think. It was a pretty average team as well.
