Did Pac Make A Mistake Joining Death Row?

#1
i was reading the court letters from 2pacshakur.net forum and after reading it through, it seemed death row completely used pac by taking money that was owed to pac e.g royalties, advances and also buying various expensive items for death row members in pacs name!! not too mention 2pac not having much money in his account even though he sold a 5x platinum album plus performances, films etc.

I'm not sure - Pac benifited from being on Death Row, but at the same time it seems like they really abused his trust and were taking him for a fool. Kinda sad really.

nope, it was Pac's only option other than rotting in jail

and Death Row gave Pac a place to live, cars to drive, women to fuck etc. before he even had an album out

but if he had stayed in jail he might still be alive today... but then u gotta take into account that all eyez on me and dk7 wouldve never been made... so if he hadn't he woulda been like shyne right about now

I think it was in his best interest to join deathrow but being best pals with suge was a bad move. Everybody has there own theory and suge being responsible is popular and I actually believe it. Its known pac didn't trust suge (indicated by him warning outlawz to not sign) but the fact that he tried to get his masters not long before the shooting and the fact that suge was driving the car is far too coincidental for me. I believe in a coincidence but not coincidences. It is possible that the media put those invisible horns over his head and thats blinding me but also looking at the "last pic" lookin at suge you could tell somethings heavy on his brain.

ya but if he was still sittin in jail or had died after the first shooting... he woulda been at a level like Big L is right now... he wouldn't have had most of his commercial success that AEOM and DK7 brought him

No, Pac did not make a mistake joining Death Row. As mentioned in a previous post, his options were limited to either watching minutes pass by like hours sitting in a cell, or reach out to someone who had the power to rescue him. Besides, Death Row wasn't really corrupted until after Pac had joined. Death Row had success before Pac, and Pac had success before Death Row; however, the two together reached a level of success that they had never reached before the merge. Such success only perpetuated egos left and right. In 1996, Death Row seemed like an empire that would NEVER fall, and while they were simultaneously the industry's most successful and most notorious record label, they felt the need to keep raising the bar in both areas. At the same time, Pac was back to being #1, except now he had something that fans couldn't grant him: muscle to use at his disposal, courtesy of Suge and Death Row. And with the money that comes with success, greed was sure to follow. And it did. And this was when the problems grew worse.

So basically it was a good idea for him to join Death Row initially, since it granted him freedom, and with his freedom he was able to be successful again and drive nice cars, eat good food, drink quality alcohol, and fuck some hotties. It was just a bad idea for Pac to live and breath the Death Row persona, rather than just rapping about it. And it's not like he knew that Suge was going to end up extorting him.

but pac had other projects under his sleve. he was going to start projects with mike tyson and also set up an organisation. i understand that pac was successful on death row, but didnt death row lead to his demise?

Best Move... Pac was a smart dude, he knew what to do and which way was a good way for him
i cant blame that move he took, just cuz he died to early
that die thing could happen any of deathrow artists
so i dunno why sum fans still keep sayin that pac made a fucked move just cuz he died when he was only 8 months on deathrow

its not the fact that pac died, its what actually happened while he was on death row. of course once u start on a record label such as death row, u want to give a good impression 2 the artist by giving them cars, house money etc. but towards the end of pacs life, suge knight and david kenner made an illegal agreement to use pacs image on merchandizing without giving him any say or money. also kenner didnt draw up the contracts to have pac merchandise his own products which later lead to pac firing kenner. not to mention, inadequate secruity paid by death row on the night of his murder but thats just another story.

Bad move, and I think he beleived that too. If you read i think its the making of All Eyez on Me, they say he didnt want to be at death row so he just laid track after track to complete the contract. Pac wanted revolution and change not to become apart of an organized crime business... but when your back is againist the wall.....
