daz's career making CONSISTENT hot beats ended with the gang related soundtrack. once he left dr and tried to do it all himself he was batting .100 which isn't that hot as far as production goes. every now and then he has a hit, but i don't buy cd's to listen to two songs.
Lol gang related? I don't know man RAW was = to or better than his DR album in many's opinion and that Dogg Pound gangsta lp was probably the only CD worth buying from a west coast artist in a while. What DR did for daz was provide him with million dollar studios, 24 hr engineers/musicians and constantly surrounded him with some of the most talented people in the history of the game at the peak of their career. If that type of company doesn’t rub off on you for the better despite your talents I don’t know what will. Daz went from that to lableless, broke, and producing shit on a single piece of equipment in some basement in long beach.
If you say daz fell off then you might as well say the same thing for every artist from the west because no one has been able to reach the same peaks they did during that time period. Chalk it up to the popularity of the genera, the collaboration amongst artists or the help they got from powerful wealthy labels but don’t make it like their current success is all on the artist because it isn’t, there’s a lot more to do with the current lack of quality music over there.
