Cultural Differences between USA and England

India are rubbish. have they even got a football team? the only Asian countries that are any good at football are South Korea, North Korea, Japan, China, Iran and Saudi Arabia. A few other like Iraq and Bahrain are ok at that level but the rest of asia is more or less shite.

There arent that many quality Asian footballers in the World let alone in the UK.

india have a football team. i remember when they played west brom and drew 1-1 in a friendly. i last saw india win something like 36-8 in an international friendly a while back.

also, in terms of basketball - the UK doesnt even have a proper infrastructure for scholars and young talent. well, not like the US where they come up through the college ranks.

but england has some really nice areas to live in, cadburys in bournville and some good attractions up and down the country. but the majority of it is a shambles.

after working in a call centre taking calls for the council, you realise just how grumpy council tenants are and how terrible the housing conditions they live in are. the councils here make out like they are companies of excellence but they have many problems.

The American system of government is MUCH better than ours.

Education. Our universities are cheaper, and with grants, open to everyone, however I do believe that the sheer number of people entering higher education here is lowering the standards. Also our top 2 universities, although world class, are still too elitist. No-one from my school was ever going to get an interview for them, never mind a place. I went to a pretty good uni, got a good degree, but I'm white, so maybe I'm just a spoilt little rich kid who has been given more opportunities...

Besides, those countries play in the Asian section of the World Cup qualifiers and participate in the Asian Cup.

Now a friend of mines who went to Uni in the UK, lived in America and was born in Nigeria (she is Nigerian) says that she noticed it was less racist in the UK as opposed to America. She thought that classes set up there were more about SES vs Race. But Casey you've explained the exact opposite. lol

Sometimes, you can take a 10 min drive from one city to another and you feel like everyone is out to get you b/c they are racists...while if you live in every other place, you'd think no one is racist.

University/Student life isn't a good reflection of UK life overall.

Uni is Uni. People come from all over the world to go to them so you get a warped perspective. being inside that college bubble.

Same as anywhere really, I spent some time living on the U of O campus in Eugene a few years back....living in that environment was a warped college perspective also, compared to when I would stay with my wife when she lived in Vegas, for example.

England is ranked 9th with a population of 61million. It isnt a racial issue, you guys just suck at football. The same reason why you don't see Indians in the NBA, its just physical limitations, not racism.

A good friend of mine who has worked at Radio 1 and other BBC areas for ages is leaving soon because there's about 5 fucking layers of middle management she has to go through before any kind of interesting project gets greenlit, and by the time it does, it's not interesting anymore.

A good friend of mine did pretty much all of the BBCs sound clips and audio branding and has nothing but positive things to say about the company.

I have many grievances about this country which is why I'll be moving to the US at some point in the near future. But mostly, this place is just dull, uninteresting, the weather is shit, the people are unfriendly, and the country is backwards and racist.

Seems to me like you've judged a whole nation there, kind of sounds racist to me to be honest. Its like you're pretty much saying "English people are dull, uninteresting, boring, unfriendly, backwards and racist.

Come to Australia.. containing some of the most openly welcome and livable cities in the world.

It's not too extreme in its capitalism, and not too extreme in its government intervention. It is largely safe, and our health system is relatively good. We have some of the hottest women in the world inhabiting our cities, with a heritage from all over the world as Australia is openly multicultural. So really, we get the best of everything in that sense. There is an underlying racism here.. but it's not really on a large scale. You get that in the more remote, rural areas.

If you want that European, cafe culture lifestyle - with the live music venues and little bars around every corner, visit Melbourne. If you want the more laid back, beach culture lifestyle, come to Sydney. We have some of the best beaches in the world. You can also visit Surfer's Paradise (there's a reason why it's called that).

Economically, we are in a sound position relative to the rest of the globe. Our standard of living is quite high, and quality of life is up there with the best of them. The weather is nearly always picturesque, and there are many opportunities here.

I'd like to go to Australia, but i'd much prefer America. In saying that i'd take Australia over the UK anytime.
