brandy at 4 o'clock

#1
Why is it such a crime to even consider drinking a brandy or whisky in the afternoon?
I was walking through the street the other day and one guy goes to his girl/ wife/ sister/ mother "you wanna go for a brandy", so the girl screams at him "WHAT, 4 O'CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND".

what difference it makes if it's 1o'clock in the afternoon or 8 o'clock in the evening. Someone tell me cos im a loser (in some quaters) who doesn't drink

usually in the morning theres stuff to do, late at night everything is done. You don't want to be wasted at 1pm and pass out in the middle of the day, thats for night time!

A few things

- I think, traditionally, drinking was something people did before dinner so if you drank at 4, society would label you as a bum or an alcoholic.

- When people drink, they don't want the buzz to go away so they keep on drinking more, by the time it's 8 o'clock, you would be so drunk.

- If your purpose is to get shit faced then it doesn't matter (imo). Like on Independence Day, people will start drinking at 1 o'clock.

Well drinking one beer for lunch isn't bad, if someone wants to drink 8 beers for lunch either doesn't have a job/school or wants to be fired
