I kind of think the recognition for Pun has died out over recent years, probably with the decline in New York Hip-Hop domination, but regardless I think people are kind of forgetting Pun.

I agree.I think Big Pun is the best lyricist of all time.I like Capital Punishment better than Ready to Die.

First let me say I love Big Pun and he was incredible. Im not here 2 debate but nobody in this lifetime can or will ever ish on Biggie and I myself think Im the best rapper

Most of the time ppl over rate dead emcees but for real, i think Pun is actually underrated by most. The dude was nuts. To me 'Capital Punishment' is a classic. His flow and his breath control is one of the best out there.

I agree i love that album.His second verse on Capital Punishment is imo the best verse ever and the first verse on that song is excellent two.Pity about Prospect appearing for the third verse.Another Pun verse would have been awesome.

no doubt, dude had insane breath control. i'm sure i've posted the quote on this site before but it makes me laugh every time i think of it. i think it was in The Source magazine's review of Capital Punishment. i can't remember the exact quote but the reviewer said something like "he rarely pauses to take a breath, and when he does he could inhale a small child" LMAO.

one of the things i really liked about Pun was even his mainstream tracks were off the hook. the first time i saw the video for I'm Not A Player, my first reaction was to laugh at this Yokozuna wannabe bragging about all the chicks he can get, but then i listened to his rhymes and by the end of the song i was hooked on him. it's not too often that an artist's singles and mainstream tracks are on par with their best stuff. although i have no idea why the version of Still Not A Player on CP was edited, or was that just my copy? i know there is an unedited version
