akai mpc's?

I'm gonna cop a 1k as soon as I can afford one. I've only really used reason before, but I really want to be able to get away from the PC when I'm making a beat.

To be honest with you that does make a difference lol. I remember back in the day when I'd so shit on FruityLoops...Id always get so frustrated cuz it was so unnatural. The MPC is a lot more natural and I think allows a lot more creativity than the standalone programs, which is definately a bonus.
 
My cousin has a MPC 3000 - the classic machine of hiphop. man that machine kicks fucking ass, none of the other MPC's were made by Roger Linn (inventor of the drum machine), thats why the 3000 is the tightest. The others are still good though.
 
i just want to thank everyone who gave me a reply. i have deciced to go with the 2000xlmcd. thanks to diaz, for pointing out to me that turntablelab.com sells them for $1499 i passed that info along to musiciansfriend and they agreed to match that price. diaz and kazi saved me $200 bucks, thanks!
