BTW, europe, which has roughly the same population as USA won much much more gold, silver and bronze medals than USA in the last olympics. Individual countries such as Uk, France, Gemrany have the same population as California.

The E.U. has over 420 million people, the U.S. has 294. California has 34 million inhabitants, The UK and France have 59 each while Germany has 82.

^^ hmm, thouse E.U figures must have been updated after the ascension of 10 new countries into it. I've done a check and its come up with 380 mill. California does have 35 but that's one state which comes to about 70% of Britain/ France
