Now I may not know as much a Pittsey, but then again, we are all here to learn.

I think the effects of the death of Afeni's only son are still playing on her today. I think She of all people would like to see Tupac alive today. Those are the kind of feelings that I feel are being expressed through that quote.

The only problem I have with:

"Remember to keep yourself alive, there is nothing more important than that."

- is that it contradicts a lot of the stuff Tupac has voiced in his records. Aiming towards his attitude that he doesn't care whether he lives or dies, in Bury me a G and countless other songs. It's almost as if Tupac had an obsession with death - welcoming it - and would 'rather die young, than old and broke'.

I agree. 2pac could have accomplished so much more if he stayed alive.

Maybe she's talking to all the 2pac dickriders that believe he lived his life right and who try to follow in his footsteps.

I think she's just trying to say there's nothing more important than life. Don't lose it over bullshit.

I thought it was a good quote, and quite emotional considering what happened to 2pac.

what is with people here? keeping yourself alive does actually mean more than some of you think.....it doesnt just mean that you should breathe....it means like live your life to the fullest cause you aint living just cause you are breathing.....and thats a deep thing to say.......they way she said it, I didnt like it either but what it means is still good!

I think most of you people in here has misinterpreted it....

peace!

a little reply to all the shots taken at my quotes:

-she shouldnt be chillin with dre, em and g-unit.
-she did deliver dope tracks in the past after 2pac's death, but i wouldnt call LTTG a great peice of work.
-she should chill with death row, imagine the BETTER albums that she could release.
-Shady/Aftermanth/G-unit records dont know what they're doing. I dont think 2pac would chill with those fags. A wigger, DRE!!! and wack ass g-unit...please. I think im the only here that sees that.
-and she TRIES to be a business-women, shes not doing a good job right now

i got respect for Afeni, dont get me wrong, i just think that her decisions recently have been terrible ones. The biggest mistake she made was shake hands with Em.

PEACE

In my view and I think Pac for example shared that view, there are more important things then your silly life and therefor, there are things that are worth to sacrifice your life for.
Everybody grows, and if Pac had have made some important decisions concerning his life he may be here today to care about his life and the effect that can have on other people. I mean kicking a crip in the head isnt really something worth sacrificing your life for is it? For example Afeni was willing to give up her life for the struggle of the oppressed people in America, now she's saying keep yourself alive. What I take from that is to be worthwhile in this world you need to keep yourself breathing so you can give back as much as you can, in other words be smart. Everybody always says.. "image where Pac would be today if he had'nt died?"

Didn't Afeni tell Tupac 'if you can't find something to live for you better find something to die for'?

Sounds like she got her principles mixed to me.

Yep. I think that is why she said what she said. I don't think she was trying to be deep with the comment. I think she was telling it straight. At the end of the day 2pac thought a lot of things were more important than death, pride, loyalty etc. And they might be... But just think of what he could have achieved if he'd swallowed his pride and was still alive today.

Maybe. Maybe not. 2pac said a lot of stuff on song which wasn't strictly true.

What you think is irrelevent. I know what I mean - I am comparing Afeni's quote to another quote by Tupac himself (of his mother). One is saying ' stay alive' the other is saying 'find something to die for...'

My intelligence has no form, especially not that which could be seen wiith the naked eye or of a forum post. What you see is in your head not mine.

It may not be a plain black and white contradiction. It is though two different teachings which pose two different Ideals.

Thing bout Pac was, he wanted ALL EYES ON HIM! He beat up Orlando knowing damn well the industry would be talking about it the next day in the same breath as Tysons fight -. Pac was fearless and he was showing it anyway and anywhere he could. Interviews, news articles, TV - u name it!! - Beating up a crip shows no fear but theres consequences that need to be avoided later on. That consequence came at a huge price -

So I dont think beating up a crip was a good enough reason for him to die - but if it wasnt Orlando, it would of been someone else. Pac knew, and we have become to understand more now over the years, that he wouldnt die old and grey like everyone else, he knew his death would be violent! -

I guess thats the hypocritical side of Pac. On one hand he is pushing for Unity and the Black Community coming together and strengthening their value. But on the other he was willing to beat another Black Man knowing what kind of life he has, and creating more division within Gangs in LA atleast (through the Death Row (Bloods) connection and Orlando Anderson (Crip).) We all know how bloody it was in LA after Pac died.

Didn't he beat up Orlando Anderson, because him, or one of his crips robbed one of the Outlawz a while back?
