About troublesome 96 og

songs get shorted before being released, tho I still cant understand why 80mins CD were invented and labels let artists publish only around 45 per disc.

on topic: the og beat is a straight loop imo. I assume the leaked version was a test to try out the verses :p

MONEY is why. The consumer will still pay $15 for the CD, whether it's 45 minutes or 80 minutes. Amaru Records, on the other hand, saves money by giving us 45 minutes worth of songs instead of 80 since they'd have less songs to pay for the production and engineering of in the same timeframe.

yea. that's some krazy stuff.. I've bought albums with 11 tracks but 16 songs on it :p
like both producer and artist didnt wanted to pay too much for registering each song and published the record as an ep, but on the other hand released tracks with 2 songs in 1 to keep it a long playing record.

my question is why did they think REMOVING the piano would make the song sound better? i mean, adding the piano in songs like "high speed" is good, so why would the reverse work? did they want to go for a simplistic, minimalistic sound or something?

...because Amaru is run by amateurs on virtually all levels. The piano wasn't completely removed; it is only absent during the first verse and the first half of the second verse, while everywhere else, it is just quieter than in the OG. And oddly, they increased the volume of something in the lower midrange that sounds kind of like bass guitar strings to me, which ends up being the most apparent change.

if they lowered it, then they did it enough to completely remove its impact/effect on the track. i never noticed it until i heard the OG.

Besides the Johny J shoutout which has been edited out, they made the song sounds better and less repetitive than the OG,in my opinion...

i do not concur. it sounds like they used a stereo imager and panned everything to the centre. i wish they'd give the guitar a more airy stereo sound.
