A Cure For AIDS Has Been Found?

Tell Obama about your ideas and maybe he'll scrap his health plan and instead of giving us tax cuts, he'll just deal out massive amounts of vitamins and free health club memberships.
What he should want to do, since both his mother and grandmother died of cancer, is try to reform the entire nature of the medical-pharmaceutical-industrial complex which has failed to effectively treat cancer or AIDS. In fact, the more money we throw at cancer, the more cancer we get. To the cancer establishment, a cancer patient is a profit center. Conventional treatments are in place as the law of the land, because they pay, not heal, the best.

I’m saying if we encouraged prevention and health, if we held industry responsible for the toxic pollution they spew into the air and water, if we put into place any standards on the toxic cosmetics industry, if we held food manufacturers responsible for the garbage they put in our foods, cancers, asthma, birth defects, and other problems would decrease significantly. If we broke the monopoly the drug companies have on medical treatment, and used a more natural, nontoxic approach, people would actually get better instead of having their illness maintained by drugs. Health insurance would cost a fraction of what it does now and everyone would have it.

Getting everyone covered by a dysfunctional health-care system (actually, sickness-maintenance system) is not the be-all and end-all of the health care problem in this country. Yet you wouldn’t know that from the media or from the movie Sicko. Unfortunately, Obama doesn’t know it either, and wouldn't get it if it were explained to him, because like most people, he doesn't have the background of knowledge needed to get it.

I'd like to see that. I'm all for it.

I wouldn't say he doesn't know. I think he's aware but I think he's also realistic. What you're offering goes against the interest of pharmaceutical and food companies with millions of dollars at their disposal for lobbying. Cliche, yes, but true nonetheless.

But, what you said has potential at the grass-roots level. A non-profit or something, educating young kids the benefit of eating organic and daily vitamin intake. Maybe you should do something like this. Perhaps, you're way ahead of me. This is not me being sarcastic...this time.
