I still think the 2jz is the greatest engine ever built, for the time it came out, what it is able to do, man.

I just don't mess around with Supras. With them being out of production for as long as they have been, rest assured that nearly all Supras on the road are probably at least somewhat modded by now. There are actually two in my neighborhood, neither of which I would dare run against in a straight line. But I'd get one if I could if I get to a point with that much disposable income.

^ But those numbers are probably only for a specific model year, right? From what I remember, the targa roof was only standard on Supras from 1996 up until 1998, the last production year the Supra was sold in the U.S., so the previous Supras were mostly hardtops.

^ Gotta love those rare produced cars with certain wanted hardware... like the Evo IX :D The value, especially of the SE, should be decent in the coming years (but obviously not like a hardtop Supra but still very decent)

I wish that they had made these for just a bit longer. I got my license just shortly after they went out of production, which sucked since it was my dream car. I bought the original Need for Speed computer game because the Supra was in it... even though it was the slowest car out of all of them, for the most part.

^^^ you coulda gotten a supra for the 30k+ you spent on your evo.... i've seen them on ebay with reserves being met somewhere in the upper 30k's... just a suggestion.... i know i've looked through them and wondered why a rare car was going out for that cheap....most of the cars come with all the aftermarket parts... there's tons advertised with 800+ hp....

The problem with that is, by the time I got my Evo, any Supra I would've been looking at could've been anywhere from 8 to 14 years old. It might be a Toyota, but age takes its toll on any car, plus its warranty would've been long expired. I like speed, but I don't like paying out of the ass for repairs and maintenance. Also, while a lot of the high-horsepower Supras can still be daily driven, that doesn't make them fantastic daily drivers. At that hp level, they're going through fuel like nothing. I'm not saying one car is better than the other, but I'd rather not buy a car that old when it's going to be my only vehicle.
