His message is still relevant because he spoke about things that will never change. He spoke but his voice can only be so loud. If rappers like 50 Cent spent more energy into voicing their opinions on issues that need to be heard, instead of making "Candy Shop" records, then maybe rappers would finally follow in 2Pac's footsteps. That's Pac's style, not the thug image a lot of rappers imitate.
"They Don't Give A Fuck About Us" is one of my favorite songs, and it is sad how it's extremely relevant to recent events. "Never B Peace," too, in a broader sense. Two great songs, lyrically at least.
