what winter sports are you good at? but then noone really cares about those either since sports like Rugby are more popular than most of them and everyone seems to dismiss it as being irrelevant. In fact Rugby is played in Canada but the team sucks.

Of course you havent heard of those sports. but does Canada have any of their own national sports that other sports have to compete with for number of participants? thats why i mentioned them in relation to Ireland and Australia.

A country with that population should be able to at least field a competitive football team imo. Its the most popular sport in the world. Canada's football team is extremely poor. not mediocre or average, just plain shit lol. Soccer is generally hated in the US and has a shit load of sports to contend with for popularity and numbers there, yet they are able to field a competitive team that can hold their own. dont see why Canada cant.
Speed skating, figure skating, hockey, skiing, snowboarding, to name a few. Now before you go and say no one cares about them, I'd agree, they don't interest me in the least. Thats how most olympic sports are, in fact the only olympic sport that interests me is hockey.

You don't understand how it is here in regards to football. It is winter here for 10 of 12 months. So in addition to it already not being a popular sport, people who do like it have no where to play it most of the year. Of course the USA can field a competitive football team, their winters aren't nearly as severe and they have 300 million people vs 30 million of canada.

^^Russia and Ukraine can field competitive football teams.

but thats probably the only sport they play in those countries unless you count vodka drinking or car lifting as a sport. lol

I tuned in during the androgynous kilt-wearing dancing punks, in time for the aerial dancer man who looked like a woman, and the singer woman who looked like a man. Oh and I caught the tubby slam poet and the octogenarian flag-bearers. It really made me miss the good ol' days of Beijing, where they'd simply replace the uglies with prettier lip-synchers.

Most of Western Russia and the Ukraine have totally different climates than Canada.

^^and Argentina. very good rugby team.

i meant a national sport that isnt played else where.

and by all accounts Canada is a great country. i want to visit sometime and tell ye how you suck at sport :). maybe ill even make the soccer team

and actually, ice hockey is a sport i wish we played over here but we dont have much ice lol. Its similar to hurling in many ways though.
I had them there, I just don't like their team :D.

I'm a Rugby fan myself. :p

I don't really give a shit about the winter Olympics. The hockey should be interesting though since Russia has a team that can upset. That's probably going to be the most interesting part of it all.

Canada does have a good number of famous people, but for some reason they always show the idiots no one cares about. I have no clue why Wayne Gretzky lit the torch... I could have thought about 20 different people that would be in a better place. Shit, why not Donald Sutherland if anything lol.

The openings were meh ... Like most winter olympics.

As for the guy that died, the conditions on the run chaged quickly, he hit the speed of like 160km/h and he wasn't ready. So the columns made him their bitch, but yeah. There's always injuries in that kind of sport.

Anyways...

World Cup & Euros > Winter and Summer Olympics.

This is one of the gayest things i've ever seen! I honestly didn't even know there was such a thing as a proud canadian.
According to the video, seems like there are a lot. lol.

lmao @ Hizzle's vid. Worst part is, people were probably going nuts to that song in the 80s. :)2

Canada has Rahim though. Biggest 'Pac dickrider of all time.
This is why I have songs that you have never even heard of and will probably never get your hands on. While you are waiting for the next 2Pac album to be released in 2025, I will have already heard it long before you. Sucks to be you. :)

Opening ceremony was amazing btw. The only surprise was the malfunction of the Olympic torch. Not that it mattered tho.
