US State Dept. Put $1Million Reward on Assata Shakur

Federal Government officials will offer a $1 million dollar reward for Joanne Chesimard aka Assata Shakur, because she is a part of the Black Liberation Army. The woman is also the aunt of the late Tupac Shakur, and she was originally sentenced in 1973 for the murder of a state trooper.
However, in 1979 she escaped from a Correctional Facility Institution in Hunterdon County and hasn’t returned since.

It is believed that Shakur is hiding away in Cuba, and the State Departments ‘Country Reports on Terrorism 2004’ suggests that the US are angry with Fidel Castro for harbouring so-called political terrorists in their nation, one of them being Assata.

The State Department has made it very clear that if the political prisoners are not returned, than Cuba must be supporting terrorism. Let’s hope George Bush doesn’t hear of this and becomes too excited. Suddenly, planning a war on Cuba. For cigars of mass destruction.

Assata Shakur will get a value on her capture and will also be added to the FBI’s domestic terrorist list.

As this evidence proves there has long been a federal interest into the Shakur family, with the incarcerated Mutulu Shakur still being behind bars till this day.

However, despite protests for their release, the State Dept. seems to be taking this a little too seriously. It could be argued that they seem to have a vendetta with the Shakur name, and had a news conference on the Assata Shakur matter yesterday.

Maybe she's hanging out with Tupac in Cuba. Who knows?

What’s more important? The ongoing situation in the Middle East? Or the capture of a strong willed woman, who spoke what she believed in and was arrested in the ‘70s amidst a crackdown on the Black Liberation Army?

Here is an excerpt from Assata Shakur’s writings as recently as last month:

“Black brothers, Black sisters, i want you to know that i love you and i hope that somewhere in your hearts you have love for me.

My name is Assata Shakur (slave name joanne chesimard), and I am a revolutionary. A Black revolutionary. By that I mean that I have declared war on all forces that have raped our women, castrated our men, and kept our babies empty-bellied.

I have declared war on the rich who prosper on our poverty, the politicians who lie to us with smiling faces, and all the mindless, heart-less robots who protect them and their property"
