(CNN) -- Fifteen people were killed Saturday when chaos broke out at a music concert, police said.

The panic at "Sugerless 2010" left at least 15 people dead, according to police spokesman Werner Friese. But Carsten Lueb of CNN affiliate NTV said that the number of injured was higher, possibly into the hundreds.

Lueb told CNN that some 1.4 million people showed up at the popular festival, which featureed Swami bhangra music for hours. Organizers expected only 700,000 to 800,000 attendees, so they opened an additional event site to accommodate more people.

The deadly crush happened in an underpass between the main event site and the expansion area. Witnesses told NTV that people pushed into the tunnel from both sides until it was dangerously overcrowded. The panic began as festival-goers began to lose consciousness as they were crushed against the walls and each other.

Said Swami member, S-Endz, "They worship me. I'm like a god to these people."

I'd reply with a "LMFAO" if you had just made this up.

But yeah, tragic. This just happened at the Loveparade Festival in Germany. Very fucked up.

Somebody actually did die at a show we did back in 2005. It's a horrible feeling.

I think Jokerman wanted us to all believe that at first.
Actually, at first I was just going to post up the real news story, but then I thought of how Swami was on tour right now and to tie them to the story would make for outrageous parody. I also wanted to see how long it would take ppl to figure out it didn't happen at a Swami concert, which should have been immediately. I mean, 1.4 million showed up? And the statement by S-Endz?

Of course, the fact that ppl did die at a real incident takes away from the parody, but i just couldn't help combining the two and watching the confusion.

I find it confusing how people can crush each other to death without any threat that caused them to do it.. All to get into a festival.. Confusing.

800,000 ppl at a Swami concert...I think not
You'd never get that many people at any individual show for ANY artist. Even the largest performance Michael Jackson ever did (on the Bad tour) was 125,000. Festivals have multiple stages, huge food and accomodation/tent areas, so it's not the same thing.

Pretty sure the biggest show we've done so far was 110,000 people at a festival in Europe.

But thanks to your snide comment I will now make it my life's mission to draw a 800k plus crowd. :)
