Yeah all those private moments between close family members is all captured isn't it? Movies are for entertainment aswell. I agree there is alot of good footage to watch of him, for example I watched the Parkinson interviews lately which was interesting, I have read his memoir. But still I think that movie was really well done.

I aint seen the film and i have no plans to either. There is loads of interviews with ali's family members, but i aint seen the movie so i dont know what private moments your talking about. My point is i would much rather see a good documentry on his life other than will smith playing him. "When we were kings" was brilliant, i would liked to have seen a similar movie about his whole life, not just the rumble in the jungle.

The parkinson interiews are class, especially the last one when ali gets pissed off.

A long time ago i got to spend an afternoon in the same room as ali. He showed me and some girl one of his magic tricks.

If you get a chance look for a video on YouTube of Muhammad Ali and the Jackson Five being interviewed at some point in the 70's.

Ali keeps droning on and on about how he wants to build some sort of high class black hotel for black people and have different suites endorsed by black celebrities, like "the Jackson 5 Suite"......Michael looks bored as hell LOL.

Why do you not want to see it? Ali asked Will Smith to do it personally. And I think its one of his greatest performances. There was so much training he did for the role, the fight scenes were done great.. Especially Rumble in the Jungle the knock out punch is awesome.
It has the relationship he had with Malcolm X and his various wives. I can't see why (unless you hate movies) you wouldn't want to see this atleast once.

If you havent seen it watch this interview with Will about Ali, explains what he did for the role etc.

when i first heard Will Smith was to become ALI in the movie.

i was mad as hell, i was shocked and refused to watch it, then i heard it was Micheal Mann directing,. and it made it hard for me to refuse.
i didnt rush out to the cinema to watch it. but saw it on SKY one night.

I was blown away by will smith.
the movie was so so and its not very revealing if your a fan and already read ali's books already. but will smith seriously put allot of effort and talent to do ali.
he had the voice and mannerisms.

before i used to think will smith was just a TV actor doing silly punchlines, but after ali i became of fan of his acting.

i do think you should give it a try, i love Muhammad Ali. always been a big inspiration to me. the movie is nothing amazing but Will smith did put a great performance.
